Normally I would agree with you.

Somehow, this guy was arguing the model due to its architecture wasn’t deterministic. I need to understand that. On the same computer, do I get a different answer every run? Was that intentional?

Or is it a compiling issue on different machines? If so, how did it compile on Ferguson’s lab’s computers.

Typically non-deterministic= non-seeded random number generator.

Why an epidemiology model would have a random number generator I have no idea.

Did you read this? People that needed hernia surgeries, gallbladder surgeries, had other issues that needed addressing haven't been able to get them. Some of these people have went on to have severe medical emergencies because the situation couldn't be addressed before it became life threatening. Most of healthcare is a huge money racket but at the same time I can see why this is a big problem. If I needed to have a surgery that was deemed "elective" and then I had to have emergency surgery months later and faced major ongoing health issues forevermore I'd find a good attorney and sue the absolute crap out of the state.

If it were on purpose it could be to sample probability distributions. But they implied it wasn’t.

And I could be screwing up the term architecture here because the original code was one FORTRAN file - 1500 lines. Apparently Microsoft and others took their code and spent 6 weeks turning it into modules and libraries in C++. And that is what the author used to make the assessment. So I don’t know where the problem (if a problem) even lies.

That's because we can't have a pandemic be declared without having everyone die from it. Cancer, heart attack, lung disease, doesn't matter if they tested positive for coronavirus they were classified as dying from it no matter what even if they were run over by a truck.
