Well, to be fair, Bill had a lot of help from a republican controlled Congress. But kudos to the both of them for working together. I’ve said forever I’d take Clinton and that congress back again in a second. What’s happened since is a complete travesty.

This is why you should always question the science and the so called “ experts “ . EVERYTHING is political now , there’s no pure anything . Even if it isn't political you can no more make all policy decisions based on public health issues only than you can on economic issues only or terrorism defense issues only, etc. And still at that, the public health officials were only (apparently) science driven by data that related to Covid rather than the entire spectrum of public health issues (mental, other health concerns, longterm impacts, etc). It was science most narrowly defined being applied to the entire spectrum of life. It was bound to fail.

I'd like to hear some clarification from him on this - the quotes in the article could be interpreted a couple ways eg. I wear the mask to protect others and it is a sign of respect for others (because it protects them) and encourages others to take the same precautions or the mask doesn't do anything but shows I respect others. I'm betting it's the former.

That said, it's clear that people (leaders) seize on individual statements from this guy and make major decisions without regard for any nuance in what he's saying.

Time for him to fade back to advisor rather than public face of our response.
