I am happy to wear one. Hell, the more of my ugly mug I can cover the better.

But when I go into the store and see some guy who's rubber-banded a dirty dish rag to his face, I realize it's a bit of joke to think that guy has my protection in mind. LOL.

I literally saw a red bandanna yesterday that I wanted to tell the little girl wearing it that she was probably safer without it on . It was filthy . Not kidding .

You are lucky , check the stats on deaths from Influenza A every year . On that same note ask NGV how many have died from it in her hospital here in the last three weeks . I hear about ICU patients everyday we aren’t concerned about them only how dangerous Covid is . I’m so over this overblown crap . The WHO says one thing , our esteemed , world renowned expert Dr. Fauci says another , Blue governors swear we are all going to die , Red governors are opening up beaches , the media is screeching about people not wearing masks or caring about their fellow man while it’s camera crew gets embarrassed for not wearing masks in the same segment and to top it all off .. Italy is opening back up for tourists . Yeah I’m over it .

Masks weren't mandantory at his work, and they had a big outbreak, quite a few sick and one very sick. My husband wore it anyway, he has no symptoms but he is in quarantine due to the people he's been around. I personally think they help from what is going on around us.

As long as you believe , that’s all that matters for you are your family . I completely support your choice to wear a mask as long as you choose .

Sorry to hear this. The office situation can be very difficult because of air flow issues, especially with A/C going. I hope the quarantine passes with no symptoms for you guys.

Modernization, the country's demographics, and the inevitable advancement of liberal political and economic thought in the USA created Trump. His cheapness, his brashness, his hypocritical appeal to American values whilst himself embracing virtually none of them, is what's left over of a dying breed.

Eventually, those trends will overtake the institutional advantage of conservatives lingering in the electoral college. Take heart. I am convinced that the conservative movement will get away from openly brandishing guns as a nod towards their racial fear mongering and justifying misogyny embodied in the likes of Trump. The conservative movement will have to adapt and become more intellectual, more about basic economic theory, as articulated by the Bill Kristol's of the world.

If you see the posts circulating around twitter (apparently the original post was on reddit) claiming that "pneumonia" deaths have surged in places like Florida, Georgia, and Texas (implying that CV deaths are just being called pneumonia deaths to cover up the CV stats), please know that the post is completely inaccurate.

There are many examples, but here is one:


Pneumonia deaths are up - but in-line with reported CV deaths. The match isn't perfect, but the agreement is reasonable. The numbers in the tweet are just wrong.

This post is circulating and spreading false information (thankfully not quite as wildly as the "CDC secretly revises down death toll over weekend" posts several weeks ago that were equally wrong). I believe that the person who created it used data from one database for 2015-2019 data (that only counts pneumonia when it is the leading cause of death) and compared to another database for 2020 (where pneumonia deaths are listed even when it is just a contributing comorbidity). Thus, the 2020 numbers look much higher.

You can just disregard it.
