Latest Coronavirus - Yikes

Were I in a high cost of living area, this quote from the article,..."What's more, the shift to permanent work-from-home is deflationary too if someone can do the same job in a lower-cost environment like Boise, Idaho compared to San Francisco."... would really be unsettling.

I always felt the teaching profession could utilize the same principle. Billions in unneeded brick and mortar and wasted travel time, although that would diminish the daycare objective.

Comments are........interesting to say the least LOL.

It is simple, you see who really works, and who collects checks.

Redundancy is and should be the first thing noticed by any decent management and performance moves, stagnation delays.

People decisions are the most important part of business, and the vitality curve or forced rankings exist for a reason.

Remember taking wood shop in school? There were those days you didn't feel like really doing anything so you take a piece of wood, walk around to all the machines, make a few cuts to look busy and get an A for the day. There are many, many people out there that have made a career out of doing just that and now they are being exposed.

I couldnt agree more.
We have never-before access to the best instructors, communicators, and teachers. Why a school would pay a tenured teacher when a better one exists via video is astonishing.

We will always need folks who can deal with Texas, though.

People have no idea of what has just occurred. Technology, and an average workforce, mean one thing to any company that wants to be here in 10+ years.

We've seen the technology and automation era for over 4-5 decades, and now, we are beginning to enter the real next stage, where by only in necessity for proficient and able human capital are people going to be needed and employed.

The curve for the last 2-3 decades has been expanded human capital base, and teams, and groups, and entire divisions of redundancy almost by the unrealized concept that the more eyes on something the less probability of screwing up.

Add in PC and HR BS, you will be seeing a much more disconnected operating style where results and delivering are the only design. And, you can be anyone, anywhere, and are nothing more than a process of delivering results.

Lets call for defunding the public school system. We have always heard it disproportional, hence racist.

The day care objective is huge. More than 70% of our students have no one home during the day.
Also, if you think it's hard to overcome inadequate home support now, it is impossible with remote learning.

I was thinking the same thing. Probably several public school administration jobs that are all title and no contribution. Just need some journalist to look into it. Same goes with city govt jobs.

I have a close friend who was a principal at a middle school. A good one, imo. There is so much politics (with teachers, parents, superintendents, school board, teacher's union )and cya in that job.
