Latest Coronavirus - Yikes

True. And it is funny when people want to laugh about comparing this to the flu.

If we did a real apples to apples comparison....no flu vaccines and no human resistance...if the flu just appeared out of nowhere, that flu to covid comparison is probably the flu is much more devastating.
The fact that Covid is within the ballpark of the Flu, which we can treat with OTCs and still kills plenty of people, says how much a non issue this is going forward.

And it hasnt even gotten up to the true super flus we have been hit with in the past like Spanish Flu. (Ok huge assumption on my part that the Spanish flu was actually a flu)

This is being done in England, which, the last time I checked, was not part of the US.
I don’t have time to read all of the stupidity you post since I’m not paid to scour the internet like you. It really doesn’t matter anyway. It’s basically another flu shot.

Twice as many people died as were in ICU? That seems strange to me. Granted I wouldnt expect it to be exactly 1:1, but 2.5:1 seems crazy. Or maybe just weird, idk.

And as I always like to do, during that time frame (4 months) America typically loses 1,000,000. If we assume that ALL of the Covid deaths were extra deaths that's less than a 9% increase in deaths.
Or another way our typical death rate of .29% of the population all the way up to .32%. Within statistical variation of the typical, and within the typical death rate of Americans in this millenia.

Again why the eff did we shut down this country for 3 months?

The two weeks makes sense. I can see that argument. Something new, let us figure it out and then back to our regularly scheduled programming.

But dear God, do you remember how many dead bodies you stepped over in the street back in 2001? That's what it's like now. It's practically the wild west out there, just with slightly less VD.

To reiterate, the concept is we have X number of beds available in intensive care and Y number of ventilators. If the number of CV19 patients exceeds either amount, we've got big problems. Having a loved one die because there simply wasn't adequate medical coverage available is a horrific option. This is why we quarantined then, and why we may have to again in the fall (or sooner) when the 2nd wave hits.

Thanks for the prayers. She’s no longer on a ventilator. Just on oxygen now. Appears that she’ll be okay. ❤️❤️❤️
Thanks for all the well wishes and prayers.

Let me give an update on this crazy ride.

My daughter is now home. She will be fine.
Both of my grandchildren have tested positive, but fortunately don’t appear to be showing any symptoms.
My girlfriend and I were both tested on Monday morning and are awaiting the results.
I’m expecting that the results will be positive based on the way we’ve been feeling over the past week. Nothing major, just a mild version of mostly all the symptoms.
Just about everyone in our family circle has been tested and are awaiting the results.
Quite a few have symptoms, but none close to as bad as my daughter who ended up in the hospital. Honestly, if it wasn’t for her landing in the hospital, we may have went through this without even knowing.
Luckily, early on we all had decided to severely limit contact with my parents (who are both 78) and all other elderly family members.

To the best of my ability, I’m going to try to keep a running tally of everyone who is affected by this situation. Hopefully, it will pass through with only the one hospitalization.

Thanks again for the prayers. GBO

Trump needs to do something he does best. Fire all these incompetent people. Trump said HCQ works months ago. Just listen to what he says. All these other clowns are trying to sabotage him.

Or dont because hospitals have actually lost capacity because of the shut downs. But I guess you ignore that aspect. I guess laying off health care workers is good for the health care system of this country.

ER / Hospital workers have been laid off? Hmm... got a link for that or you just making stuff up?

If a Vaccine becomes available I would wait two years, and preferably seven years, before getting it. This is true for all new drugs that come on the market.
