If we quarantine again corona is going to be the very least of our worries. To reiterate, the concept is we have X number of beds available in intensive care and Y number of ventilators. If the number of CV19 patients exceeds either amount, we've got big problems. Having a loved one die because there simply wasn't adequate medical coverage available is a horrific option. This is why we quarantined then, and why we may have to again in the fall (or sooner) when the 2nd wave hits.
Honestly I like the idea. Get money in to stimulate the economy.Ive been opposed to a 2nd stimulus but think this might save some businesses
Could a $4,000 domestic travel credit be part of a second stimulus payment?
There's absolutely no way that the government will mandate a vaccine. Never say "never?" I'm saying "never."Unfortunately it may not be our choice. It appears that in the event of a public safety emergency the constitution goes right into the crapper and we can be forcibly vaccinated against our will.
I saw a posted interview with Alan Dershowitz a week or so ago explaining this very scenario in regards to governmental suspension of individual constitutional rights.
Proprs to your company for giving you that. Ive been off since March and just got a letter that its looking like October, but after being in lockdown im ready to go somewhere, anywhere. Im actually flying down to Florida with my parents soon but id go somewhere else fast, quickly and in a hurry if we got that second checkWe would do our part...I have over 20 days of PTO time I have to take or lose by the end of the year....Company said I could do 2 or 3 weeks at once since I helped them out during the lockdowns when others wouldn't.
West Tennessee Healthcare furloughs 1,100: Citing a revenue loss due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Jackson-based West Tennessee Healthcare has furloughed 1,100 individuals of its 7,000-person workforce, according to The Jackson Sun.ER / Hospital workers have been laid off? Hmm... got a link for that or you just making stuff up?
It's incredibly bad in East Tennessee, as well.West Tennessee Healthcare furloughs 1,100: Citing a revenue loss due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Jackson-based West Tennessee Healthcare has furloughed 1,100 individuals of its 7,000-person workforce, according to The Jackson Sun.
This is just my local hospital system (West TN). I’m sure there are countless others all over the country.
Fortunately, as is the case around the world, children have been largely unaffected by the infection itself. However, the social isolation, lack of access to medical care, limited therapy services, etc has been devastating.I couldn't imagine what you've had to deal with through this.
While o don’t believe there will be another order like that, maybe community targeted ones, they don’t need the police. Companies aren’t going to violate those type of orders. They would be open to way too much exposure. With all these cities voting to defund their police departments, how will they enforce a second round of quarantines/shelter in place orders?
I appreciate you and your posts. I am so worried about how this has impacted my 8 year old daughter. In many ways she has grown. Which is good. In many more ways it’s been bad, she has less desire to be social besides me and her mom, because until last month we were all she was around.Fortunately, as is the case around the world, children have been largely unaffected by the infection itself. To date, not a single admission to our tertiary-care hospital in Knoxville. No pediatric deaths. And now, we have good studies showing that kids are not "asymptomatically" spreading the virus to the older/frail population.
It's been the hardest three months of my 16 year career
Man, I hate to hear this. I'm seeing it every day. It kills me. I'm just trying to go above and beyond to be sensitive to the needs of my patients and to hear out and encourage my parents.I appreciate you and your posts.
