Latest Coronavirus - Yikes

Maybe our docs/NGV can weigh in on this for us.

Started reading the case and had to laugh. The doctor that I had a hand in getting dismissed from his job in Indiana belonged to this organization. I worked in Kalamazoo where this suit is venued.
Aside from some of their other stances, I do think on the merit of hcq being a safe drug they are correct. 65 year FDA approval is pretty strong evidence of that.

FDA broke its own guidelines in the emergency approval of hcq for only covid19 positive pts and without saying it ruling out prophalaxis use. Goes to safe drug feature.

I may not agree with their stances on many things but I hope the suit gets the relief it seeks. Little late for healthcare workers as most of my cohorts have already had the wuhan flu. It would undoubtedly help others for propholaxis use.

Have they sent you any emails explaining how political protests are immune to corona but political rallies are not?

Pretty confident most people at Trump's rally won't wear a mask - just out of principle (like Donald).

In contrast, most of the folks I've seen pics of at BLM rallies seem to be wearing masks.

I really hate to break it to you, but people strapping a pair of underwear on their faces (which they constantly handle with their fingers, sweat through, and move around to drink and smoke) isn't going to hinder the spread of a respiratory virus in throngs of vocal protestors. That notion is complete and utter idiocy.

16 friends get virus after night out. Hear their warning.

"A group of 16 friends went out to a crowded Florida bar to celebrate a birthday have all tested positive for coronavirus. They're telling CNN's Chris Cuomo that it was too soon to be around large crowds, and going out without a mask was a mistake."

FL bar.

So 16 young people tell Fredo they are now covid positive while he himself went out to his new house being built under a city lock down while being Covid positive ? Smh

Never suggested it would. Merely posting a photo.

Few things here

1. The blonde middle girl was interviewed on NBC Nightly news last night, outside, smiling in the sunshine.
2. All of these kids experienced mild symptoms, most only lost smell and taste
3. How can Chris Cuomo say anything to anyone about going out when he ventured out and confronted people while he was allegedly sick

The big difference is gonna be venue. It’s pretty clear that crowded, confined spaces pose increased risks. Protests outside are a much less likely place to be adequately exposed than a crowded indoor arena.

The idiocy of non-mask wearing trump supporters in a crowded confined space will make for a good study population though.

This is incredible. So, some friends went out and had a good time, contracted a cold virus, caught up on Netflix for a few days, couldn't smell their farts, and now are all likely immune to CV19 and have contributed to herd immunity.

And, it was a "huge mistake???" What kind of disingenuous news anchor would possibly report such bull'*$@?

Let me get out ahead of this one before people spread fear over this
DeSantis says 260 workers tested positive for COVID-19 at Central Florida airport. Not exactly, Orlando International says

Greater Orlando Aviation Authority CEO Phil Brown in the statement said the Florida Department of Health did conduct 500 tests at Orlando International Airport over three days last week. Just two of the tests in that batch came back positive, he said — 0.4%.

According to Brown, from mid-March through June 6, a total of 132 airport workers — including airline and rental car company employees, TSA workers and airport authority staff — tested positive for the disease caused by the new coronavirus. In addition to that, 128 people tested positive who don’t work at the airport, but who were linked through contact tracing to the 132 airport workers with confirmed COVID-19 infections.

I guess we are just ignore the chick in the pic I posted blowing her spit from that whistle all over people elbow to elbow with her ? This whole opening up bad , but protest good thing , is a big pile of politically driven Sh!t .

Nonsense. These outdoor crowds are packed like sardines and people are sweating, screaming, eating, and drinking. Their risk is every bit the same, if not higher, than a sports arena or other large gathering venue.

The virus doesn't fly around through the ventilation system.

If they didn’t die or increase hospitalization rates or visit a nursing home, then actual this is a positive step toward herd immunity.

I'm becoming more disappointed by the day in the talent we have in public health offices across this country. We are doing a horrible job of tracking the true nature of this virus. The CDC is completely neutered. The public health offices are passing on broken data with no detail. It's bad.

It is highly likely this virus strongly peaked in late March / early April nationally, yet our numbers forever plateau due to how we test and the fact that people who have had it are taking multiple tests in order to be declared recovered (often need 2 consecutive negative tests, separated by two weeks) but are testing off and on positive for a few months due to how PCR is detecting dead virus fragments. Yet each of these positive TESTS is, in most cases, being considered a new CASE. Also, you have states throwing in antibody test results that are showing up as new cases. It's making tracking the pandemic incredibly difficult. And I don't think that it is even a politically motivated thing in a lot of instances. Texas, while increasingly purple, is red at a state level. And they are making a lot of these mistakes.

I do believe we are seeing areas begin to pick up again, but lord it's hard to see it through all this BS noise.

It's very disappointing and concerning.

The differences are still there. I saw the whistle. But there is definitely enough information out that shows close confined space is a higher risk than outdoors. And it doesn’t fly around “through” ventilation. But tracing from restaurant cases have literally shown people infected were in the flow pattern of the HVAC downstream from the carrier.
