Latest Coronavirus - Yikes

I cant believe we have gotten to such a point where people depend so much on warning labels.

There is no room in our society for common sense.
Speak for yourself. I used to eat those crystal silica packets that come in various packages to keep it fresh. I always thought it was an extra bit of candy and it was delicious. That is, until the government stepped in and said they were “poisonous” and “do not eat”. At that point I wasn’t even upset about possibly being poisoned. I was appalled at the fact “big” government was telling me what to do.

Do you think there are more people protesting or going back to work and going out in social situations? All you need is a brain.
actually the spike in new cases is due to CMS requiring that all adult living facilities, psych facilities, jails, etc. be required to have COVID testing before any transfer to and from medical facilities/doctor's appointments can occur

Do whatever you feel is right and do it. Shut your mouth concerning anyone and everyone else.

Pretty simple. And, if you disagree with how I chose to live my life, then, you can deal with how I chose to show how strongly I disagree with your opinion.

If I get sick, or die, I'm not complaining or crying or whining about it.

You don't get to tell me how to live my life, if you think you do, then reference the history of mankind and see how that eventually turns out.

Your store wants me to wear a mask, no problem, I respect your policy and will shop elsewhere. You tell me by decree of some elected governmental pos buearacrat, I'll leave the area and live where I am not dictated to for no logical reason. Pretty simple.

Some nursing home facilities are requiring all employees be tested weekly now.

Right. It's all about those pesky transfers.

If you choose not to wear a mask, the potential bad consequences you face come from your own volition. But the real problem is how many others you will infect walking around positive and not wearing a mask. As a diabetic, I have to wear a mask. To me, wearing a mask shows respect, civility and thoughtfulness toward others. Is that so hard to comprehend?

I keep my distance or never come into contact with you, which is what it would be, I'm of no risk to you.

And, once again, my life, I'll be cognizant enough and common sensical enough to not allow you to be affected by me.

And, again, your feelings are directed by your circumstance. So, you feel the way you do. So, you should take every precaution and hope others are as aware and decent as I am if in public.

But, make no mistake, your circumstance really doesn't matter to me, and this is the point you need to understand. You do you, I'll do me, and I'll do everything I can to never be within 6 feet of you. So, why the need to place any type of judgement on me.....because you are the one who is susceptible, that is why. If you were healthier your perspective might be different, maybe not, But, you feel as you do because of your circumstance and me because of my circumstance.

And, respect, civility and thoughtfulness are a two way street.

I appreciate your initial response to my post. I am actually healthy as a horse aside from diabetes, but being a person having a suppressed immune system has obviously made me pay more attention to this situation.

I already know you don't care about anyone's "situation" because you said you don't wear a mask. As to my behavior, how I can extend more thoughtfulness than I already do my wearing a mask and keeping a distance between me and others while I am in public? We both know your side of the street bears the blame for not wearing masks. Incidents like shooting store owners who require masks or the belief that not wearing masks is a political statement and not a health concern are clear cut evidence. Your freedoms are not more important than mine.

you have no clue of what you speak of, i meet with the CDC/Knox County Health Department weekly

What happens in Knoxville regarding COVID is of no importance to the pandemic in other areas of TN or the US. Let's face it, compared to Nashville or Memphis or any other major city that is hard hit, not as many people go to Knoxville on business or pleasure.
Just wait until 30,000+ students, administrators, professors and laborers hit campus in August. I suspect you will be up to your eyeballs in cases. I take no glee or satisfaction in saything that, either.

Don't assume anything about me, or my side of the street. I'm as decent a human you could ever meet, and I respect your life and your choice to wear a mask.

I'm respectful enough to never put myself in any situation where I could potentially do anything to anyone. That is done by a constant ability to be observant and aware and sensical enough to not touch stuff put it back, to not be within 6 feet, to not be out at times others are, and on and on. And, I am rarely ever out near anyone and make it that way without the virus.

I've said plainly, don't like a policy, then avoid the place you don't agree with, simple.

Wearing a mask is a personal choice, nothing more, and especially not political as this whole freaking thing has been turned into. Some arsehole does anything like "Incidents like shooting store owners who require masks" they are a complete and utter moron low level idiot, not my problem, or concern honestly.

And, even if this was the most contagious killing virus ever known to man, if I chooose not to wear a mask or anything else, it is my right it is my life, end of story.

My point is if I'm a decent and observant human, and I decide to not do something I do not need, or want, or can justify, and I do not pose any risk to anyone, why should it matter how I decide to live my life?

How do you know you are not a risk? Are you tested daily? Rock out with your face out, Typhoid Murray.

positive cases don't equal massive amounts of death either.. Our Level 1 trauma center services 55 counties in TN, KY, NC etc. and have had TWO deaths from COVID since all this began...

Why insult now, dialogue was going good.

So, I'll play along too, I don't care about you, simple enough. Tell me what I need to do, and you'll be told go f*** off. Keep pushing, see where that get's you.

You are scared, or more concerned, because of your situation, I'm not, and once again, honestly, that's the crux of the issue.

You do you and worry about staying healthy, I'm healthy and don't interact with people, and if I do, be happy I am as cognizant as I am. Otherwise, good luck to you.

Did they tell you the punishment for eating them against their orders?

It’s not the protestors driving this up. It’s people going to get tested because it’s super easy to do so right now. It’s people going to get tested because someone they work with tested positive. The shrieking over positive tests is stupid though.
Yep.... I agree

I already stated that testing is at an all-time high. The rioters/protesters aren't helping matters.
Who cares? This is America..... protest if you want....shop if you want.... swim if you want.... play sports in a gym if you want.... go to a bar if you want.....do anything you want to do..... the government needs to quit trying to control us.

and your freedoms are no more important than his.

The difference is, the freedoms he is claiming dont directly impact you or anyone else. The freedoms you are claiming directly impact him and everyone else.

You are making an unequal argument here.

Yep.....in North Carolina nothing major is happening but listening to the news you would think everyone is getting seriously ill.
