Latest Coronavirus - Yikes

Hey anti-mask Trumpers, can we start the USA! USA! chant yet?

Well, WTF do you expect when testing is at an all-time high and a plethora of stupid people decided to band together and destroy everything in sight? Let's hope that the people that are impacted are just Nature's way of weeding out the stupid.

It’s not the protestors driving this up. It’s people going to get tested because it’s super easy to do so right now. It’s people going to get tested because someone they work with tested positive. The shrieking over positive tests is stupid though.

I already stated that testing is at an all-time high. The rioters/protesters aren't helping matters.

This afternoon I went to my drum supplier’s warehouse to pick up a couple of drums ( to fill with catalyst and ship to Turkey ). This is in the Houston area about an hour north of downtown. I saw around a dozen workers there, most of them driving forklifts, none wearing a mask.

My wife: “That’s why cases are going up in Texas!” and she asked me, “Did you wear a mask?” No.

Did not know I was marrying a Karen.

Heck a month ago I didn’t even know what a Karen was.

So you're saying that the positive tests are the result of people going back to work and being social?
I thinks it’s a lot of things. Easier now to get tested. So curious people going. Those who know someone who know someone who is positive is going. Work is requiring a lot of people. Especially if they have one positive test in their building. Protestors sure. I think what we are seeing now is going to be serious decline in hospitalization and death rates. Which is good.

Fair enough.

Way more testing is occurring, and that's a good thing. I am of the opinion that nationwide mass demonstrations involving thousands of people that were previously isolated for months assisted greatly in the rapid spread, which I don't think is a bad thing (herd immunity proponent), unless you happen to have comorbidities. Good discussion.

So the Dimwit NC governor listened to the Dimwit mayor of Charlotte and just ordered mandatory masks in public for NC...and extended phase 2 reopening for 3 more weeks....

If the numbers are true, NC is like FLA and AZ in that there is a bubble of increased positives and hospitalizations.

I will not be wearing a mask. Fortunately, I am building a new project in Fort Mill, SC...just 3 or 4 miles across the state line.

These Dimwits have shown that they will do anything and everything to wreck this economy in order to hurt Trump. What a joke

Go to google. Search "blm protestors". Look at the various images.

You tell me what percentage of people wore masks. I'd say 80%.

Go to google. Search "trump tulsa rally". Look at the various images.

You tell me what percentage of people wore masks. I'd say 5%.

I rest my case.
Do you really think they were wearing masks to reduce the spread of covid?

Were the 80% wearing masks for their health or as a way to hide their identity from the authorities? Don’t forget, Antifa was wearing masks way before it was cool to do so.🤔

Some may have, most wore the masks to protect themselves.
Yes, and others wore them to protect their identities from being discovered for possible crimes of opportunity they planned to commit. The point is I would say the vast majority werent wearing them out of civic duty to reduce the spread of covid.

Only a very tiny fraction of the protesters were actual trouble makers. The vast majority of people you could see on tv who were protesting were doing it peacefully while wearing masks. You're right the majority weren't wearing them out of civic duty to protect the public they were wearing them to protect themselves.

Cool. Just say you identify as a black person and dare them to question you about it. Raise hell loudly if they do.
Yeah I could probably manage to ugly cry on camera while yelling some nonsense. Idk if I could do it without laughing.

MGM Resorts to require all guests at U.S. venues to wear face masks starting Friday
Published: June 25, 2020 at 6:35 a.m. ET

MGM Resorts International MGM, -8.28% said it will require that all guests wear face masks inside public spaces at all of its U.S. outlets effective Friday, as it moves to upgrade safety measures during the coronavirus pandemic. Previously, the casino operator only required employees to wear masks. The U.S. recorded a one-day total of 34,700 new confirmed COVID-19 cases on Wednesday, the highest level since late April, when the number peaked at 36,400, according to data aggregated by Johns Hopkins University. Infections are rising in 29 states, according to a New York Times tracker. "It is clear that the coronavirus still presents a significant public health threat, and masks have proven to be one of the best ways to curtail the spread," MGM said in a statement. "We want guests and employees to feel comfortable that we are putting their health and safety first." MGM shares were down 2.2% premarket and have fallen 49% in the year to date, while the S&p 500 SPX, -2.58% has fallen 6%.

I wonder how the public would react to another lockdown.

Not well since they witnessed mass protests and riots in the streets and the media praised them for their courage.

Cases will go up with increased testing. However, I think cases are going up because people were locked down for weeks and their immune systems took a hit.

People weren't being exposed to COVID during the lockdown. They are now. Hence the rise in cases.
