Latest Coronavirus - Yikes

We were also reviewing the cases in FL last night and noticed most are listed under "unknown race" which is kinda confusing. How can they test and admit without identifying a race?

I often don't fill that question in. Why would my race matter?

Why anyone reposts Clay Travis tweets on CV19 is beyond me. He's a sports radio gambling personality.

If you rely on him for your virus advice, I've know a great plumber to perform heart surgery on you, too.

The assessment comes from looking at blood samples across the country for the presence of antibodies to the virus. For every confirmed case of COVID-19, 10 more people had antibodies, Redfield said, referring to proteins in the blood that indicate whether a person's immune system has previously fought off the coronavirus.

How often are you tested at a doctors office? If you're concerned about this virus it would be a key piece of info. Maybe we should just skip the age, weight, sex, preexisting conditions questions too?

I have yet to see Clay give virus advice. Looks like he simply posts numbers, data from other sources.

Why anyone would ignore the message because of the messenger is beyond me. But to be fair, that is a standard dishonest debate tactic...when you can't attack the message, attack the messenger.

Anybody wanna start a new political party called the Scofflaw Party with me?
Scofflaw has an interesting etymology/definition.

Coined during prohibition it is simply combine the words "scoff" and "law" to describe what drinking was during that time. Mocking the law.

The scofflaw party sounds a bit to much like the anarchists pledge.

Is there a race we don’t know about yet ? I hope it was a giant , there should be more giants they would need ladders to do second story work .

Florida joins Texas in rolling back reopening of state economy as COVID-19 cases spike
Published: June 26, 2020 at 12:40 p.m. ET

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (AP) — Florida banned alcohol consumption at its bars Friday after its daily confirmed coronavirus cases neared 9,000, a new record that is almost double the previous mark set just two days ago.
The Florida agency that governs bars announced the ban on Twitter just minutes after the Department of Health reported 8,942 new confirmed cases, topping the previous record of 5,500 set Wednesday.

so now those people have to go thru the hassle of filing for unemployment AGAIN - such a screwed up country this is

I know this may seem counterintuitive but at this point shouldn’t we view all the positives test as a plus? Only 2-4% of those who contract this virus who are under 50 have any major issues. We can’t hide from this, and we did flatten the curve to keep the hospitals from being overwhelmed. Isn’t now the time for the healthy to get it, get over it, and develop herd immunity? Keep those with co-morbidities under masks and a safe as possible, but let everyone else get it and move on.

Pfft. Gimme a break, dude. You're a smart guy, so I'm thinking you're just not up to speed on this tool.

FOX SPORTS PUNDIT CLAY TRAVIS IS SPREADING THE WORST POSSIBLE CORONAVIRUS ADVICE
Reasonable Men are not helping the crisis.

"I believe the coronavirus is overrated and we are overreacting to it because it is a new and novel fear. The flu happens every year and affects far more people than the coronavirus does." -- @ClayTravis

From the article:

"That Travis’s following is so dim is precisely why it’s harmful for him to not treat the coronavirus seriously and parse data in bad faith. Last week, he continued to say the pandemic wasn’t a big deal, because things in South Korea, where there were 8,412 confirmed cases as of Thursday afternoon, are just swell."

March 11, 2020

"I know Twitter is an emotional medium, but we’re going to be fine. South Korea has provided an excellent template for how to essentially erase a far more virulent coronavirus outbreak than we presently have." --
@ClayTravis

From the article:

"It’s difficult for someone who doesn’t specialize in epidemiology to make assessments on rapidly changing data, and even tougher if you’re a yokel who once melted down because an airline wouldn’t allow his kid with lice to board. The resulting deluge of unanalyzed information can be overwhelming to the average person, possibly sparking a rush to stock up on distilled water even though there’s no indication that the coronavirus will harm our water supply, but that’s understandable. Getting anxious about this is a human response. However, it’s actively harmful to diminish a virus that is on every continent but Antarctica and say there’s “nothing to fear” for anyone under 70, as Travis has. (Again: Wrong.)"

The Ballad of Clay Travis
#DBAP(F): Don’t Be A Pandemic Fraudster.

"Clay Travis decided that, in the absence of sports, he could find a market niche by offering pseudo-scientific rants about how the media was overhyping coronavirus. He told listeners that the disease would only kill “a few hundred people” and that he doesn’t “believe it is going to impact hardly any of us at all.”

And it turns out, however off-base this was as a moral or intellectual matter, it was an excellent business decision.

Travis’ anti-media screeds found an audience of listeners looking to both have their political priors validated and an enemy they were comfortable hating. Which is how this unlikely sportscaster found himself as one of the most prominent voices lecturing the media over their anti-Trump “fear porn” and telling Americans to just “chill out” when it comes to COVID-19."

"So let’s take a look at his opening bid:

  • We are overreacting to possibility of global pandemic (wrong)
  • Infection and death rates similar to flu (wrong)
  • Unlikely that more than a few hundred will die in U.S. (tragically wrong)
  • You are an idiot if you think otherwise (self refuting)
You’d think someone who was arrogantly dismissive of the death and despair that has been caused by this virus being proven to have been so humiliatingly off-base from the start would grimace, look over both shoulders to see if anyone noticed, and then quietly go back to talking about sports and which quarterbacks have the hottest girlfriends."

LOL. Did he ditch you at the prom or something???

I like him even better now that I know there is are internet authors making the case for him to be derided. Article written March 19, btw.

Clay is entitled to his opinion just as you and I are. I have yet to see him give "virus advice" as you claimed.
