Latest Coronavirus - Yikes

Are you dense? Herd immunity means sickness, long term disabilities and/or a death sentence for a lot of people. I am not ready to write off people like that. Your position is akin to the Nazi's ideas of killing off "useless eaters" as it devalues the lives of some over others. I wonder if you are a Christian because Jesus would virulently disagree with you.
You listen to the news way too much..... my governor claims we are a hard hit area but the hospitals tell an entirely different story.

So wear masks until there's a vaccine?

That may never come.

Something came out about a hospital (maybe a certain health system???) in Houston at 100% capacity. I couldn't tell if it was from Covid19 patients or their regularly scheduled surgeries/recoveries plus Covid19s.
I saw a post from TennTraditions over the weekend saying only 25% of the patients in Houston hospitals are Covid related.

This coronavirus mutation has taken over the world. Scientists are trying to understand why.

"
At a glance, the mutation seemed trivial. About 1,300 amino acids serve as building blocks for a protein on the surface of the virus. In the mutant virus, the genetic instructions for just one of those amino acids — number 614 — switched in the new variant from a “D” (shorthand for aspartic acid) to a “G” (short for glycine).

But the location was significant, because the switch occurred in the part of the genome that codes for the all-important “spike protein” — the protruding structure that gives the coronavirus its crownlike profile and allows it to enter human cells the way a burglar picks a lock."

...

"At least four laboratory experiments suggest that the mutation makes the virus more infectious, although none of that work has been peer-reviewed. Another unpublished study led by scientists at Los Alamos National Laboratory asserts that patients with the G variant actually have more virus in their bodies, making them more likely to spread it to others.

The mutation doesn’t appear to make people sicker, but a growing number of scientists worry that it has made the virus more contagious."

The mutation of viruses is one reason why a vaccine for colds and AIDS hasn't happened.

That article is from Johns Hopkins' own newsletter. You are desperately trying to besmirch the one of the finest medical schools and hospitals with that story/ You are silly and more than likely a science denier.
They got caught because of the book about HELA cells, I used to assign it to my law and ethics class every semester, Oprah made a movie about it. They were taking AA DNA without letting them know or paying them

You calling kiddie doc dumb. Sorry I hurt your little feelings by using common sense
You just lied twice. I did not say kiddiedoc was dumb nor did you display any common sense. All I said was there were outstanding sources that disagreed with him and that I had more faith in them than in a doctor I didn't know.

I think masks probably aren’t a bad idea, but it’s amazing to watch how people go about doing things in public and how many illogical things they do that fly in the face of simple common sense when we’re trying to stop a virus from spreading.

So you are saying we should discredit any research from Johns Hopkins?

No you didn't. You said scientist disagree and I had a dumb opinion. Kiddie doc and I have the same which in essence is calling him dumb. Oh yeah not speaking for her but I'm pretty sure NGV has similar feelings as well

Nope but they are not without faults and they are not the end all on guidance either...Dr. Fauci, The Lancet, and the WHO are all supposed to be experts on pandemics too and look at their track record with COVID

I don’t think we have to wear masks 24/7. Just use a little common sense for the time being wear one for the time being if you’re in a particularly crowded public place. We can mitigate this without quarantines and shutting everything down if people will just think a little about the way they go about their business.

What is your track record on COVID? Oh, that's right, you know bumpkis about it.

Geez this is stupid.

It really doesn’t mean death for a lot of people, it actually means saving more lives in the long run. Why do you want to drag this out and maximize the death count?

Young healthy folks will not die from this. Period. They won’t even get hospitalized, statistically, outside of some silly anecdotal story you can dig up.

You want to save old and at risk people from death and long term disability? Let these young people get this virus, develop immunity, and stop with the fear peddling. As long as hospitals aren’t overloaded (which they aren’t) then there is literally no issue. At this point anybody at risk would know it and is self-isolating. And if they aren’t, the healthy folks walking around without masks aren’t killing them, it is the at risk people that are pointing the gun at themselves.

And I’m not Christian, FWIW.

Even more reason to go about every day life

I agree. I’m a healthy guy that is not in the least bit at risk. I really don’t mind wearing a mask if it is required.

But I don’t think those that don’t want to wear a mask should be ostracized. They also shouldn’t complain if an establishment requires it, just go somewhere else.

We are clearly at a point where a little common sense and courtesy should suffice.
