No wonder you have been poo-pooing the seriousness of COVID and against taking precautions from it. You live in the 91st most populous city in the US, a town that is smaller than Chattanooga, TN. I think Clarksville, TN may be bigger, too. Norfolk has only had 855 cases of COVID and 9 deaths from it. Go talk or listen to Nashville's Dr. William Schaffner, a professor of preventative medicine and infectious diseases. He's been on local Nashville media as well as national outlets and is an advisor to the CDC and the government. He can tell you exactly how bad things are like in most American cities and infection hotspots. By the way, Nashville has had 12 times the number of cases and deaths than Norfolk.
I live in Norfolk, You assumed I work in Norfolk. Oops. Our hospital receives pts from 6 smaller hospitals around us with smaller ICU'S or no ICU's. They ship their covids to us. We only ship them to cardiac care at the heart hospital if they need ECMO. You are suggesting I go talk to a professor when I'm in the field dealing with this daily? Condescension intended.
I've been masking up since this started to care for covid pts. I myself got covid when it first started. You may have forgotten our conversation about it and your shortness of breath lingering. I asked you that question a long time ago because I was concerned about you or I having lingering side effects. Since we are both in that infirmed column with underlying respiratory issues and my
obesity being the worst of it.
I was there when our first confirmed covid19 died. I just left this morning after taking care of a covid19 pt. I have the ability to realize covid is serious for certain groups while keeping that in perspective with society as a whole and the effect it has on the bigger picture of healthcare and the economy. Thus, my stance on reopening for the economy we are killing.
I have been consistent. Protect the elderly and infirmed. Hand washing, masking, keeping those at risk out of public areas and assisting them to do so. That is my informed opinion having been hands on since the start of this.
I didn't vote for trump. In all good conscious in 2016 I couldn't. I'm more conservative financially and believe that personal responsibility cures many ills. You were incorrect in the assumption that I form any of my opinions based on the .gov since the CDC and NIH have repeatedly changed their tunes.
I do not wear a mask because I've had corona. Those who haven't should mask if they feel the need. I will mask if a business demands it for commerce. I believe in natural immunity and continue to see immunologists who recommend herd immunity suppressed by a vaccine narrative that wants us to wait to conduct commerce until you get a jab that may or may not work. That should concern everyone.
TFWIW you can question my stance if you want. That's why we are here discussing this pandemic. You can question my thinking and I believe I have explained that just now. If you find fault, so be it.
I've been involved in every new respiratory disaster that's come to America since 2006, I've been in ICU since graduation. I've worked with some really great pulmonologists and infectious disease doctors with some really complicated pts. My microbiology teacher was an awesome person who worked for the cdc in the field tracking viruses. More condescension intended.
Now, since your initial assumptions were wrong outta the gate are you done stepping on your own Johnson?
