Latest Coronavirus - Yikes

You know what else would prevent that loss? No lockdown measures

Or, when you refer to me in such a manner I simply say come tell me what I need to do there elderly big mouthed woman...... how about you are the "insert insulting name like child".......

The one thing everyone should be taking away from all of this, is no one knows a freaking thing day in and day out and there is literally not much you can do to ensure whatever the heck "safety" is to or for you.

You worried, stay home, don't leave, have all of your desired and necessary goods delivered, decontaminate and sanitize them, and STFU.

Otherwise, risk is the reality and there is nothing else to say.

You can try and tell me the slow of....... the abilty to maybe not spread........no matter what, there is a real probability that no matter what you do, you will more than likely be in contact with, and come into contact with, the virus more than you want to recognize or admit every day.

And that, is what gets me. Humans and their ego and inability to understand you don't matter no matter how much you want to believe or think, we all are nothing, and specs in a small moment in time. We truly think we are something.

Go look up a light year. Quantify and understand it, then go read about the universe and come back to me and tell me your worries and fears and deepest thoughts and opinions and tell me you really matter......ego of man.

Not to demean or lessen our experience as humans, but, for the love of all that is righteous, have some perspective and step back and be happy to be alive right this second, there ain't much else you really control. Do all you feel is necessary for self preservation, but, relax just a little.

Don't even worry about what Fauci says anymore. Seriously. I could tell you right now what he just did. Yeah we get that there are no guarantees. Did you think there was a guarantee? What question was he clearing up when he said no guarantees? He never says anything of substance. I'm wondering why after all these months people are still struggling to figure him out. I suggest you start a new thread when he says something of substance. It'll be worthy of one
Might be waiting awhile for that thread...

Well that's all good and fine, but what about my God-given right as a free American to be an a-hole and not where a mask?

For me I'll wear a mask if a place ask me to, no problem however for a lot of people it has nothing to do with God Given Rights and everything to do with theyre over all the BS moving the goal post. We were told don't wear mask, then wear mask, oh wait don't and now were going to make it a crime not to. We need to lockdown to slow the virus, now we're locking down until a cure is found but Fauci says there will be no cure but maybe a vaccine but he doubts it so just stay locked down. Oh and kids, you can't go to school but your teachers can go out to a bar and drink but kids don't leave your house to go throw a football but your teacher can go to some stupid ass protest with 50K people in attendance. Don't you dare go to a trump rally but if you go to a protest youre actually helping slow the curve. You better stay out of that swimming pool or i'll throw you in jail but gyms are OK. So no, it's not about god given rights it's about the dumbasses who keep moving the goal post and the hypocrisy!

You couldn't possibly be more wrong about this clip. Cuomo said it is within ourselves to believe in one another and to do what is right for you and your community without depending on God's help. The Bible says the same thing.

Hebrews 13:16
"And do not forget to do good and to share with others, for with such sacrifices God is pleased."

McRib had an interesting convo with a nurse anesthetist at hospital yesterday. He said about 75% of positives are false. Labs, hospitals, facilities have the ability to set the "sensitivity" [not her word or phrase but close enough] and the range on the machine to indicate what is or is not positive. He said many who tested positive at one place and are tested again at another place, are showing negative on subsequent tests. He provides coverage for about 3 hosptials and under 2 different health systems.

Have you heard anything similar?

I think that goes back to my question a couple of day’s ago , who’s watching the gate keepers . I haven’t heard anything about everyone using one standardized test , one method and one process . That bothers me a little since we put so much emphasis on test results . Sorry I know that was addressed to NGV but I wish I could find out more about if everyone is doing these tests the same way .

We have had a positive pcr and a negative lab value from an outside source. Im not a lab expert at how they are run and what level constitutes a weak positive but I have seen it happen a couple of times. We are still getting positive pcr and lab value results 3 weeks out after treatment and it looks to be the average.

In an effort to cut through some of the hyperbole and get a realistic sense of when a vaccine will be widely available, USA TODAY created a panel of nationally known experts in medicine, virology, immunology, logistics and supply chain issues to estimate how far we are from a coronavirus vaccine. Every month, these experts will track progress and highlight inevitable setbacks.

If you think of it as a clock ticking from midnight (when the pandemic began) to noon (when vaccines will be widely available in the USA and life returns to something approaching normal), then as of June, the panel said it’s about 4 a.m.

“The sun has not yet peeked over the horizon, but the horizon glows in the East. We are no longer in darkness,” said Dr. Kelly Moore, associate director of immunization education with the Immunization Action Coalition.

The USA TODAY vaccine panel is designed to offer readers an objective, nonpartisan understanding of how close we are to getting an effective vaccine distributed to the nation’s residents. We’re about a third of the way there, they said.

“I think we’ll have a vaccine by the middle of next year,” said Paul Offit, director of the Vaccine Education Center at Children’s Hospital in Philadelphia.

Pamela Bjorkman, a structural biologist at Caltech University, said she agrees, though one of the hardest parts – scaling up to make enough doses of the vaccine – will be a major challenge.

“I subtracted an hour from the one-third of the way there estimate to account for manufacturability and distribution issues,” she said via email.
I guess no one will be allowed on UT’s campus until Fall 2021 then. Interestingly enough, they do allow for religious exemption. I’ll leave that one right there.

Tom Hanks: 'Shame on you' if you aren't wearing a mask

One of the world's most famous Covid-19 survivors has reportedly made his feelings known about those who don't wear masks.
Actor Tom Hanks and his wife, actress/singer Rita Wilson, were two of the first celebrities to announce they had contracted the virus and, according to People, Hanks is now urging people to mask up.
The magazine reports that Hanks talked about face coverings during a press conference for his movie "Greyhound," which debuts July 10 on Apple TV+.
"There's really only three things we can do in order to get to tomorrow: Wear a mask, social distance, wash our hands," he was quoted as saying. "Those things are so simple, so easy, if anybody cannot find it in themselves to practice those three very basic things -- I just think shame on you."

Now Hanks is urging people to "do your part" to help stop the spread of the coronavirus.
"It's very basic," he said during the press release for the film he wrote as well as stars in." If you're driving a car, you don't go too fast, you use your turn signal and you avoid hitting pedestrians. My Lord, it's common sense."

Then why don't we always do it. How many people die a year of viruses? 100k? Bunch of baby killers.
