Latest Coronavirus - Yikes

Let's not lose sight of the fact that deaths are not the only thing with this disease. It has lingering effects in some recovered folks. Months later some are saying that they still can't "catch their breath" like before. Others are reporting scarring in their lungs.

My father is a polio survivor. He now has what they call post polio syndrome. For him that means that he can barely walk and needs a scooter or a walker in order to move anywhere. Polio was the virus of his generation.

This is not a disease we can poo hoo. It's not worthy of a shut down of our economy but it's not as simple as writing it off as only killing the compromised either
I feel that each American should be responsible for themselves and the well being of their families..... I just want to know the truth so that I can make a decision on how I want to take care of myself and my family....There is so much misleading info out there that it is ridiculous.

Virus: Daily Deaths Plummet Despite Record Cases
Data: Single-Day Fatalities Lowest in Months

Coronavirus-linked deaths across the U.S. continued on a downward trend as of Monday afternoon, even after the country hit historic levels in the number of new confirmed cases late last week, a Breitbart News analysis of the seven-day average of fatalities showed.

Breitbart "analysis," lol. There are three kinds of lies: lies, damned lies, and statistics (Disraeli).

Even your posted article says:

Health experts have warned about the lag between infection identification and death that could take weeks or more, which means the fatalities could increase down the road. The current spike in the number of cases intensified almost three weeks ago around mid-June.

The lower RATE of death, compared to infections, is primarily the result of the trend towards younger population. But, what that does not account for are: 1) The broader infection of young people in the last two weeks will yield a spike in infections of older people in the near future; 2) even if the death rate as a percentage of cases goes down, if the number of cases skyrockets, you still end up with more deaths.

On top of that, they cherry picked July 5 -- a Sunday on a holiday weekend, which is notoriously underreporting. Sunday, or example, 200 deaths were reported; whereas on Monday 325 were. By your logic, that's over a 50 % increase in one day!! (which is not an accurate measure, but shows you the lengths to which Trumpsters will manipulate the facts and the numbers to give false appearances).

These kinds of headlines by Breitbart, etc., are designed to get their misinformed base to ignore the actual reality, instead going around and reinforcing to each other that things are getting "better" when in reality they are getting worse, much worse.

It's really sad that we got people who eat this stuff up.

Stop the idiot protesters and just give symptomatic people HCL or the nebulized steroid Budesonide early. Problem solved. No more COVID 19 problem.

How long to get covid test results in TN? Got a moderately sick family member. Told it takes 7-10 days to get results. If that's the standard, the numbers you're seeing from the spike in Tennessee are really from tests done a week to two weeks ago.
My mom and sister were told a week but got it in like 2 days. This was Chattanooga.
I think it took the other sister like 3 days in Knoxville.

All have been negative. FWIW.

Nothing too severe yet from my sister. Has had a low-grade fever for a week and a persistent cough. But she has started to complain of being winded and not being able to get a good deep breath. She's in a good demographic though (based on age sex and no pre-existing conditions), so I think she'll be fine, but she's still scared.

Don't know how accurate, but this show median age of COVID positives is going up. This would be consistent with the disease working itself up from the young to the middle aged. And we know who comes next.
