Latest Coronavirus - Yikes

Perhaps the most important point is that multiple, large-scale studies have found that kids are not transmitting the virus to adults. That's quite different from influenza, and it negates said argument against the reopening of schools.

I'm happy to repost articles and links if requested.
One good thing about kids returning to school is the cleaning routine will hopefully be a little more stringent. I volunteered for head checks at a couple schools and the cleaning was really lax.

Has there been disagreement about zinc? I use to get some zicam melts if I ever felt some kind of sickness possibly starting. One day at CVS the pharmacist told me it was a waste of money. Doesn't do anything. Wasn't trying to get me to buy the CVS brand or anything. Just said zinc wasn't going to help and recommended something else.
Zinc alone is imunosupportive but you need other vitamins as well. B and C which your body will excrete what it doesn't use. A,D,E, and K you should follow the advised daily amount.
What did he recommend?

Sounds like VHSL ( Virginia High School League ) will make an announcement next week officially cancelling Fall Sports and it doesn't sound like it will be made up in the Spring either. Sad for the Seniors, Northam says no sports in Virginia can be played unless you can maintain 10' of distance so they can go ahead and cancel all Winter Sports as well.
VA is turning into one of the most liberal/antifa states in the country

It was the lowest number since March. That's significant. He also said that folks like you would be all over the "Tuesday number". He's a prophet

His argument was that we were overreacting to the spike in cases because deaths were going down. It was a BS argument for numerous reasons (which @lawgator1 set out), the most salient of which was that deaths lag diagnosis by several weeks to a month. Deaths will be going up. We're not going to see that low 200s number for a long long time.

Batting average in baseball per player? Number of hits divided by number of at bats. It’s not number of hits divided by number of fans in the stands who don’t get an at-bat

Number of deaths from Covid divided by number of cases of Covid is the only true death rate of Covid. The government doesn’t want you thinking about that

Are you intentionally ignoring the fact that we KNOW we missed a ton of infections and that cases << infected individuals?

True death rate is NEVER deaths / cases. That is the CFR. The infection fatality rate iFR is a true measure of your risk of dying if infected. To calculate this, you need to know your case capture rate.

In general deaths are going up in the places where cases are going up. It's hard to say how much better we are at capturing cases now, though. So will the CFR for these cases be 1% instead of 4%.....better.....worse?

I'm doubting that in the time to come, care to wager? Say change pic for a month?

You have know idea if what you are saying is true yet you throw it around like it is fact. Hell, the experts have no idea what is going to happen.

I saw some European soccer while flipping channels this weekend. Reserves on the sidelines in masks. Players, during times of stoppage, helping each other off the ground, standing in groups talking, etc. This is all so stupid.

Old but hilarious

Florida mom:

Here’s how I think requiring masks might work in elementary.

Please don’t snap Billy’s mask in his face.

Your mask is not a necklace, bracelet, or any other form of jewelry.

You should not be using your mask as a slingshot. Please put it back on your face.

Please do not chew on your mask.

Your mask should be on your face, not on the back of your head

I’m sorry your mask is wet, but that’s what happens when you lick the inside of it.

I’m sorry you sneezed. Here’s a tissue. Wipe out the snot as well as you can.

No, you may not blow your nose in your mask.

Why is your mask soaking wet? You just came back from the bathroom?

And you put it back on your face after you dropped it?

I’m sorry you broke the elastic on your mask by seeing how far the band would stretch. Now you’ll have to hold the mask on your face … or use this duct tape.

Please take the mask off your eyes and watch where you’re walking. I don’t care if you have X-ray vision.

Please take the mask off of your pencil and stop twirling it.

I know the mask fits over your pants like a knee pad, but please take it off of your leg and put it on your face.

What do you mean you tried to eat your lunch through your mask?

Please don’t share your mask or trade masks. I don’t care if you like Ingrid’s mask better than yours.

I’m sorry, but your mask is not school appropriate.

We’re not comparing our masks to other kids’ masks… everyone’s mask is unique and special.

No, you may not decorate your mask instead of doing your work. I don’t care if you have a Sharpie.

You’re not a pirate, please take your mask off your eye.

Try to get the gum off as much as you can.

Please don’t use your mask to pick your nose.

I’m sorry you tripped, but that’s what happens when you put your feet inside the elastic of your mask.

I don’t care if you were in art class and being creative; we do not decorate our masks.

We do not beam other kids in the face with balls. No, their masks don’t make it not hurt.

Please don’t plug your nose holes with your mask.

Who’s making that noise?
No, your mask doesn’t make it hard to get your work done.

Your Mom will need to get you a new mask since you chewed a hole in that one.

Why is there a shoe print on your mask?

No, you cannot eat the snow through your mask.
I’m sorry your ponytail is stuck, that’s what happens when you see how many times you can wrap it around your mask.

I’m sorry to tell you, but your child thought her mask made her a superhero. She tried to fly off the jungle gym at recess …

I’m sorry your breath stinks in your mask, maybe we should all try to brush better.

Please take those cookies out of your mask. No, you are not a chipmunk.

No, your mask doesn’t make it hard to get your work done.

Your Mom will need to get you a new mask since you chewed a hole in that one.

Why is there a shoe print on your mask?

No, you cannot eat the snow through your mask.

And there you have it. That’s pretty much what our poor elementary teachers have to look forward to in the fall if masks are required when school starts back up!
