Latest Coronavirus - Yikes

Not only does someone have to be within 6 feet of you, they have to stay there at least 10 minutes from everything I’ve heard from the “experts”. How often does that happen in the normal course of life?
This is part of my whole argument against masks. First it was 2 weeks to slow the curve, then it was a month and so on and so forth. Then it was wash your hands, social distance, save masks for frontline workers. Then it was wear masks when youre in doors. Now its wear masks all day everyday even when you sleep. How about give me a guideline on what they "think" is best then let me choose. Im smart enough to stay away from someone when not wearing a mask, im smart enough not to go to a store and cough all over the shelves, not to sneeze on someones face. So if I am intelligent enough to social distance why do I need a mask. Maybe in all reality the fear mongering mask wearers are showing how small their intelligence levels really are.

Amen ! NGV says Im on my at least my 8th life . Lol
Yeah..... I remember the time I was going well over 100 in a trans am on my way to a Kentucky/UT game in Lexington..... A big rig didn’t see us in his blind spot and came over on us.....I managed to squeeze down the emergency lane and survived it..... I slowed down and almost had to change my pants after that.

Mhmmm, I remember a night I decided to floor it on the interstate, Had my 2000 Ford Ranger pegged out as far as it could go, Next thing I knew I jerked left and slammed on the breaks, I swear I went white line to white line a few times. Luckily it was extremely early in the morning and nobody else was on the road. I pulled over in a gas station parking lot and took a breather before driving again.

And to add to that, how can we trust them (the local/state government) that won't move the goalpost on us aging?

Based on my experiences at the grocery store you're smarter than the average person. I've probably said this here before, but just because you're buying a tomato, there's no need to molest every tomato.

So again tho, if I am smart enough to stay away and use hand sanitizer after I touch something, why do I need a mask?

The government puts all sorts of preconditions on businesses before they can do business with with people. They tell pharmacies they can't sell you a drug unless you have a prescription. A grocery store can't sell you alcohol unless you have an ID. Gun stores can't sell you a gun without a background check. Moreover, even outside of the emergency powers in play here, states have broad powers to set sanitation requirements at businesses. This. Is. Not. Hard.
This. Is. Not. The. Same.

If people want to wear masks or businesses require them that’s their right. I just don’t understand why common sense has completely gone out the window.

That is true in some places - and was true in Tn at one point - but that is no longer the case in TN.

You can go to the state health website and see that recently new positives are generally higher than new cases.
I've had confirmation that it was/is happening in FL, as well.

Ok, so what's the difference? You say this is the government telling businesses who they can (those wearing masks) and cannot serve (those without masks). I've given numerous everyday examples of where the government tells a business who they can and cannot sell a product to (prescription, ID, background check requirements). Conceptually, what's the difference?

As expected another new record today. 63,000 new COVID cases. 7/10/2020

Total cases 3,168,611

Deaths from those cases. 133,885

2,016,000 cases on 6/10/2030

Therefore 1,152,000 new cases in last 30 days

So, if we have a 1% death rate, we're looking at 11,520 deaths from those testing positive over the past 30 days.

The mayor of Chattanooga has been whining for a mask mandate for weeks. The county mayor gave it to him, and now he's instructed the police not to enforce it in the city because doing so "raises significant concern over enforcement in marginalized communities". I thought we were trying to save minorities from this virus? Maybe he's a secret white supremacist?

Would you have justified the right having the same response and reaction had Hillary been elected? I don't think so.
The right wouldn't have had anywhere near the same reaction had Hillary won.
It wouldn't have been the youth of America, it would have been old white guys and the rationale would have been completely different.

Those are enacted laws and regulations, not the whims of a governor. You claim the the state of emergency powers give the governor the right to do this and I say it doesn’t. I can see in the language how you could argue it either way but I don’t think it would be too difficult to argue against her right to make such a decision on her own. Forcing businesses not to serve someone doesn’t even stop that person from still entering the premises and spreading the virus. So how can you say this is even done to save lives as part of her emergency powers if it doesn’t even accomplish that purpose?

I'm not sure I ever said you needed to wear one. I think the most "pro-mask" thing I said was to ask why they were being handed out at Trump rallies if they are ineffective or even dangerous as some around here have claimed.

Are you including the MSM media, Hollywood people, and Washington Dems as “youth of America”? That’s who I’ve heard whining, well, along with those on this board. Most on here are not “youth”.

I wasn't arguing against you at all. I was just trying to make my point why I hate em.

All of them, plus the youth.
