We are testing too much periodThe US has conducted more overall tests as a sum total but not as a percentage of the overall population. They aren’t even in the top 25
Coronavirus Update (Live): 17,901,532 Cases and 685,780 Deaths from COVID-19 Virus Pandemic - Worldometer
Politics are responsible for this. Data are facts, not speculation. Look at what has happened in Florida, Georgia, and Texas. The US has less than 5% of the World’s population but has 25% of the World’s cases of Covid. Places where people wear masks have significant few cases of the virus than those who do not wear masks. Maybe you would rather inject some disinfectant in your body that follow science. I prefer to go the scientific approach rather than kill myself with an unscientific approach.
I would absolutely love to watch you guys to go spew your ignorance at the nursing and support staffs at our hospitals. Part of the reason so many are allowed to be aloof to this disease and its suffering is those dying are isolated and have no one outside sharing the pain directly. The victims die alone because the virus is so dangerous.
I am thankful so many of you have been spared the pain of this disease. But my family and I have been tragically familiarized with it and when you feel its killing touch, it hurts. It also hurts to read so many have internalized lies to make themselves feel safe going about their business.
By all means, go about your life, conduct business, go work, but do not be an ignorant victim of this silent killer. Protect yourself and those you love, and also those you don't know. It is what Jesus would do, why aren't you?
It’s not as simple as some on here suggest. You have to check a certain number of boxes regarding symptoms to get the drive up ones. A doctor has to give you one. Or you have to claim exposure to someone who has a confirmed diagnosis.why are so many getting tested ? Is it free ? - do they have symptoms ? It seems to me all unnecessary testing could cause another lockdown
I never claimed it was a significant threat to young people.
In general terms, this disease affect the vast majority or young people with digestive symptoms. But they carry it to the adults in their lives and then, ...So if it’s not a significant threat to young people, why even respond to me? I was stating the media has wrongly convinced people this is a significant threat to everyone. Which is why players are scared. You disagree? Why are they scared if this is no significant threat?
Unless I’m right and the issue is the media
Even if it’s not a significant threat to those under 25 those kids catch it and spread it. How hard is this to understand?!? I mean I know people have intelligence. A virus spreads through humans. Thus, these kids catch it and spread it and those in higher rusk age brackets are less safe. To keep the spread down, most believe we should avoid large groups and that also entails 60-80 kids pulling on top of each other with sweat, blood, and heavy breathing. So if it’s not a significant threat to young people, why even respond to me? But I teach in a community k-8 school of 250 children. We have 23 children deemed high risk if they catch Covid-19 due to underlying health conditions. So that is @9%. I am SPED so these children work closely with me and I know their medical and education needs intimately. Some will learn online, but home is not always safe if their guardians and parents refuse or fail to take reasonable precautions. My experience tells me four of them would die quickly if they have severe symptoms. Others have higher chances and physical and mental resources to fight back against the infection and associated risks.
Serious question, What is your threshold of dead children or kids with lung damage or other associated problems before this meets your criteria of a significant threat?

Why is this so complicated to understand!?!
Look, if they play then great. But it’s not hard to understand that it’s very risky and probably not the right thing to do at this time.
In another arena. Herman Cain is dead. He attended a very large indoor rally and was in the hospital 9 days later. He succumbed to COVID after battling for weeks. It’s not political but it’s a very appropriate example of those who dismiss all of this... and don’t tell me we don’t know where he got it. Just use your common sense.
People use caution because they are concerned. That is not wrong.
Lol. Questioning an SEC athletes manhood and commitment.... comical. Maybe, just maybe, they are intelligent enough to understand a COVID infection doesn’t just affect themselves. Having reservations about playing a contact sport in the midst of a pandemic that has killed over 150k in this country doesn’t make you a puss...They aren't obligated to play. For college athletes, this is different.
Can't blame them for bowing down to the fear that everyone else is
You do know that while the risk is low if this delusional thing played out and you exposed every D1 player, even at their age there would be a few deaths. And you’d be ok with that? Not at all. It’s a serious proposal. Intentional exposure. If the fear is “football players will get it and pass it to old people” expose them now and isolate them for 2 weeks.
Uhh... so this was a Texas A&M conversation and they are saying all SEC players are worried.... kind of disingenuoushttps://www.google.com/amp/s/www.washingtonpost.com/sports/2020/08/01/sec-football-players-safety-meeting/?outputType=amp
Also asking “Is it worth it to play football?”
Sorry folks.... but this one’s over. We won’t play in 2020.
Disagree with me and you are not merely a fellow human being with a differing opinion, you are part of the problem. I can't think of anything less American than that. The inability of a large part of our population to deal constructively with people who disagree with them is a much bigger threat to our survival than any virus, IMO.
