A large percentage of people don’t wear masks, probably not much you can do about it but to believe the vast majority of people are wearing them in simply not true especially for Republicans and many Independents.

Amazingly, Florida colleagues have alerted me that hurricanes are apparently curative for CV19 disease. Cases are down and ICU capacity has increased quite a bit.

Testing sites were closed down starting Thursday night, right? I just remembered that. I expect we will see that begin affecting number of tests reported as early as today....which would explain why they only reported 4k new cases (I haven't seen the new tests number, but I bet its down).

I haven't seen hospitalization data yet, but will pull it this afternoon.

I think it has been it has been pretty obvious since the beginning that Birx has been trying to straddle the line, between speaking truth and mollifying Trump with some upbeat messaging. Those two are at odds with each other and she was this past weekend finally forced to at least some degree pick a side.

She chose more of a truth message (not completely, but tilting that way) and as a result Trump has immediately abandoned her to the wolves. As he has done with anyone that does not tow the line on his mischaracterization of the truth.

I was just noting that it seems Trump and Pelosi are on the same page wrt Birx today. Strange bedfellows.

If I am worried about someone spreading a communicable disease I do not run up and get closer at them to do "x". If anything I GTFO, or at least maintain my distance.

This is a case of being political. They care more about being seen caring about the spread of the disease, than they actually do the spread of the disease.
