I was thinking that the numbers we see today were from testing done Mon-Wed of last week so if they are lower it has nothing to do with the storm.

Just analyzed today's data.

Test reports were down 30% from last Monday.

However, percent positive continued its trend down, which could be a great sign.

I will admit I rode that bus for a little while, but I understand that would be pretty tough if not impossible to do( Older folks can be quite the handful when told to sit still and not do something). I think we maybe on our way to finding out how to help the best we can those who are vulnerable, but I agree there is no true way to completely protect those at the highest risk.
However, its a catch 22 with my question from earlier opening back up would be more important to a 18 year olds, mother who committed suicide due to the social isolation that is happening now. But if you ask the family of a 75 year old grandpa who passed from COVID we should've stayed shut down ;because, the vaccine could've given him another 10 years with him. Ask 100 different people and you get 100 different answers.
I think the question that needs answered is which path will cause the least amount of deaths? Was the original 5%( I don't remember exactly) death rate correct, or was it overblown and the 150k plus lets just say another 100k deaths could be linked to the other factors mentioned above. ( I just pulled a number out of the air, I dont think we ever get a true number of that.) We can talk about and debate this as much as we want, but I dont think we will ever have a clear answer to either at this point.

Well originally the “experts” were claiming 70% of the country would get it and then implying, some maybe even said but I don’t recall that for sure, that the same 5% (possibly even 7%) death rate would apply. The difference is that Trump claimed there would be 11 total US cases. We will hit FIVE MILLION. This week.

And yet he refuses to admit its a problem. Even when he reads from a script that acknowledges reality, within a day he is distancing himself from it and yet again minimizing it.

Why? Is he really that stupid? Is he insane?

Yeah, I don’t at all like the way Trump agreed to just throw a ton of money at this thing. I get that some had to be thrown but we threw a ton and a good chunk didn’t seem to be thrown effectively. I don’t know that it was thrown as poorly as Fauci’s first pitch but it isn’t an unreasonable comparison. Dems, Reps, Pelosi, Trump, they all share in that but Trump is the POTUS so he shoulders more blame than the others. I don’t know what the best way to handle it would be and no POTUS would’ve looked good during something like this as it just isn’t a good situation but the spending is definitely one issue I’ve had with Trump during this pandemic.

Anarchy isn’t in every major city but there are sections of quite a few that are a mess right now. I’ve talked to people that have seen it first hand in some areas and say it is bad but I’m sure it depends on where you are, the time of day, etc. It certainly isn’t as peaceful as the MSM wants everyone to believe but it likely isn’t as crazy as the others portray either.

Then why throw out a bunch of unproven fear stories if you don’t really know what’s going on? Well, he wasn't legally obligated to lie about "anyone who needs a test can get a test". If it had been true, the we could have actually done contact tracing. The actual thing that would have put a handle on the pandemic.

And as I suspected, the standard test administered by our healthcare provider came back negative for my daughter. Yet, her "positive' test result will not be redacted and will still be counted toward the total number of infections.

Happy to hear she is negative - at least if 2 out of 3 tests are to be believed?

But it doesn't say much for the consistency or reliability of the different test platforms.

Or how the case count data is being reported.
