Latest Coronavirus - Yikes

I think they could have changed that mission any time they wanted to if Cuomo had requested it to be so. The were at his disposal. They also had a large field hospital set up to deal with whatever they needed to deal with that went largely unused. It’s unfortunate they didn’t make use of those 2 resources to help the elderly at that time. Hindsight. That’s all I’m saying, the resources were there, they weren’t used appropriately.
I’m not making excuses for Cuomo, I’m saying the excuses being made for Trump are not “solid facts supported by linked sources.”

To say that Cuomo could have stuffed all those people into federal facilities, is conjecture (“I think...”), about what might have been possible had everyone been on the same page.*

Whether the failure of the federal and state agencies to interface efficiently is “more“ the fault of NYC, New York State, or the Federal Government, I have no idea and don’t much care. IMO, people in charge at all levels share the blame. I wouldn’t vote for any of them to be the dog catcher of a small town.

* - and they had the same problems with the field hospital at the Javits Center. At least initially, it was not set up to deal with “whatever they needed to deal with.” You’d know the practical limitations of a makeshift facility better than I would, but here’s an interview I listened to in April that discusses some of the limitations and bureaucratic problems with the field hospital:

To me, it sounds the same as the ship.

Agreed on the second part but if you think a vaccine will make this go away then I believe you are going to be quite disappointed.

You make a good point and it'll certainly be something to follow but I do feel that Americans will not have the patience to support mask wearing, not attending sporting events, etc, etc after a vaccine comes out. Obviously there's lots of variables here and there'll always be a contingent of people who will push for this indefinitely due to the risk of all diseases but I think good sense and economics will win out in the end. Just my opinion

Lmao.

You said the ship was sent there to take Covid patients.

The articles say when it arrived it couldn’t take anybody who didn’t have a negative test (at a time when tests were being rationed).

So how exactly does that confirm what you said?

You obviously didn't read my post and now you're looking silly for not doing so. Go back and refer to it again. I specifically stated:

The first week the idea was to do non C19:

I gave documentation and I also noted that they pivoted from this one week later and did see C19 patients. That's exactly what happened and it's all documented in my post.

If only I had a nickel for every minute I waste just correcting people's reading comprehension skills...

The decision makers are terrified about the liability issues and they don’t want to be bashed on social media by the “shut it down crowd”

I think they need to leave the decision to the players. If they want to play, sign a waiver that the school will not be liable. If you don't want to play then sit the season out. Pretty simple.

Mick, the drug has been here for 60 years. People still buying the bull narrative that this drug is harmful are being purposefully obtuse or stupid. Its side effects are more than well documented and minimal.
Then again put the lenses back on, it is kinda funny watching people make these statements.
I've not exaggerated how "harmful" the drug is. You on the other hand have exaggerated how helpful it is. Your lenses seem to distort your perception of what is really happening.

Just heard some disturbing news last night. My best friend who is an infectious disease specialist in SC was recently on a conference call with the CDC, SCDHEC, Roper ST Francis hospital and Dr Fauci. He said he and a colleague asked some important questions. The answers and responses to the questions are the disturbing part.

The questions were this: “can anyone tell us if the positive cases are from patients with true symptoms of COVID or ard they being tested just because of being admitted for anything?” The second question was similar but much, much more important. “Are the official death numbers of patients that died WITH COVID or BECAUSE of it?”

The CDC rep said that that info is inconsequential and irrelevant. He directed the question to Fauci and he would not answer. After this call he received an email stating that those types of questions are inappropriate and not germane to the states goals of dealing with COVID.

Do you believe HCQ should be a viable treatment option for COVID?

If it turns out to be viable, absolutely. I don't have a problem with Doctors using it now to study if its a viable treatment.

Agreed. I just don’t understand why some are just so staunch against it. Do I think it’s a miracle cure? Highly doubtful. But what if it helped prevent 5-10% of people dying? I think that’s worth it. I am not saying it will but doctors should have the freedom to prescribe it if they want.

Starting to believe this whole damn crisis is manufactured.

Ole spittin Nancy Pelosi was on Fox news not to long ago to complain about Trump and his executive orders for Covid stimulus extensions. You know the democrats are desperate when Nancy comes on Fox news! In fact I don't that I've ever seen her do a one on one interview on Fox.

Ole Nasty Nancy. I saw that interview. Also saw a day or two ago when she was interviewed on PBS and accused the interviewer when asked a straight question about the lack of progress in the stimulus negotiations, of being a shill for the GOP. She is pure evil.
