Well I was forced to have the Windows operating system upgraded in my main work computer against my will yesterday. “Microsoft no longer supports your old version”. Left work yesterday with a slow system replacement in progress. One of my machines froze up a year ago when such an “update” was attempted, so I came into work this morning fearing the worst but fortunately I only had to deal with a dead mouse LOL.

I remember trying to get rid of IE for Netscape Navigator back in the 90s and got all kind of Wile E Coyote messages from MS during the swap... like a red flashing ACME Browser warning

I suffered with Windoze upgrades for decades when I was working and after retiring and dealing with crappy laptops for a few years I bought an Apple MacBook Pro laptop and couldn't be happier. They are expensive, but no more reboots and installing upgrades. Whatever this thing does it doesn't do it when I want to use it. No "we need to update your computer please wait 10 days BS". I'm all on board with Apple and use their phone and laptop. It'll take a lot to get me to regress.

I was actually thinking about getting an Apple computer today. I'm due for a hardware upgrade.

If Excel, Word, Powerpoint and Adobe will run on there, that's about all I would need.

I don't know about PowerPoint or Adobe, but I have Word and Excel on my Mac and it works just fine.
