I'm not a Covid denier but I really wish we had legit numbers to judge this off of. I've got a grandmother that is a coroner and a wife that is a NP who runs the Covid clinic at least one day a week at her practice. They see how serious this virus is but also know first hand that the numbers are being skewed terribly.
Three examples from them really stick out as odd to me...
- If you take a gunshot wound to the chest and die but test positive for Covid your death also gets marked as Covid related.
- If I test positive and two weeks later get another test in the hopes of returning to work but that one is positive as well then that's another tally to the positive test list.
- Wife works at a good sized practice and so far this fall they have had zero people test positive for the flu.
Not saying every practice or coroner office operates under same rules but if this is happening in one county then it's definitely happening in others.
