If they truly believed this is incredibly deadly they'd be getting their medicine and supplies from deliveries and pickup orders. Instead they wade into these killzones and have the time to argue with those that don't agree with them.

Because that has worked where? How about in the bathrooms, at concessions, and while entering/exiting? Are they safe as long as they are eating and drinking beer, like the rest of us?

How in the hell is attending a football game more important than seeing family for Christmas, operating your business, or going to church?

Disaster fatigue is a real thing. I don't support their decision to attend, but it's not my decision to make.

We'd probably be in the clear or mostly in the clear if we'd actually taken it seriously for longer up front.

Did you think the virus would disappear?

Is it possible that telling people to stay indoors and wear unregulated cloth face coverings is actually making things worse?

Is it possible that not allowing healthy people to build towards herd immunity in the warmer months is now creating a terrible situation during respiratory season?

Oh yea we could act like China and shut everything down. By government mandate with extreme consequences. Or we can celebrate our freedoms. Our freedoms come with risk. It's part of the deal. I will choose freedom. Oh and we would have significant less deaths if a hand full of governors didn't stick sick people in nursing homes.

Do you realize that a good portion of what you just said is counter to both previous and current science and would have drastically increased the death toll?

You are actually seeing "science" play out in real life. Previous science showed that masks have no effect on viral transmission (sources available on request). We had no idea what effect telling the lay population to wear unregulated face coverings would have on transmission or deaths. Nor did we know what the effects would be of closing businesses, limiting gatherings, encouraging people to stay home, etc. Now, we have 9+ months of data, and it certainly does not support the conclusions you are apparently drawing.

Again, I know it's hard to challenge what you are being told. Objectively, look at the trends around the country and present a counter argument. I will gladly entertain it.

Being told. Jesus H Christ, I'm not some ****ing sheep. I've been actively involved in following research in my field into aerosol droplet dispersal and diffusion, implementing it in clinical and educational settings, and providing feedback for further study.

Based on that research, my wife and I decided to send our kids back to school in person in September. We attended church in person until Cuyahoga went purple and the church decided on its own to go remote until February to let things cool off. We do takeout when budget allows and do limited shopping trips to locations that require masks inside.

I even elected to teach in person following implementation of the CU / CBDNA aerosol study recommendations.

Being told, my ass.

Now you tell me the mechanism by which mask wear fails to stop aerosolization. Be specific.
