There's quite a bit of distance between posting a picture of a mask on a flagpole with the heading "The flag of slavery" as a pandemic draws to a close and saying that there are benefits to being exposed to much better understood and less dangerous bacteria in one's youth.

So Australia is imposing yet another draconian style lockdown? But I thought Australia beat COVID? Super strict mask mandates, stay at home orders etc. I mean they almost had martial law installed. But yet COVID has returned. Maybe the clowns will wake up.

They have something like 30 cases in Victoria State (Melbourne) and that’s the area of the country they are shutting down. Australia isn’t a free country and hasn’t been for a decade or more, if we keep voting as we are we will be in the same boat.

I’ve been following the authors coverage of Covid. She’s an infectious disease MD from UC San Francisco. She has done, in my opinion, a very nice job in “following the science.” Early on the pandemic, she voiced many of the common concerns by the “experts.” However, as more research has become available, she’s been very much a proponent of moving forward more quickly than what we’ve seen from Fauci/CDC.

As I sit on public transportation, there are reminders everywhere of the Federal mask mandate. Even overhead announcements. This despite the fact that the actually government advisors, the CDC, says you don’t need to mask anymore if vaccinated. There’s even a recent scientific study (apparently not to be followed) that clearly shows mask mandates had no effect of disease spread. Biden himself said it was only going to be a 100 day mandate. But here we are, 130 days later, still masking….

Another “two weeks to flatten the curve.”

Could 100 days of mask-wearing change the course of the pandemic in the US?

once the government grants itself more power, its hard to break that hold.

I love the dichotomy here. You must either do everything the CDC does, or else you lick public restroom toilet seats for fun.

No middle ground allowed.

Another example of our Covid response this being about politics and not the actual pandemic
