Those were mild compared to this. Never underestimate the power of good propaganda. One thing we've learned is we can't trust Fauci. He told us he lies based on what he feels like he needs to say. The arbiter of truth.

I am sorry, did Fauci predict Trump would have to handle one that would kill half a million Americans? Or just that he would have to handle an outbreak that threatened the population?

I agree. Fauci's remarks could be nothing or either it could mean they were doing dangerous gain of function research.

Either way, this virus was more lethal then anything since Spanish Flu. Maybe I'm missing something in between mid 20th century.

My daughter got the vaccine even though we advised her to wait and let more data come out. Given that she is young and healthy we felt it prudent to wait and watch. So where we are at now, within a week after second dose she developed tremors in her right hand. The Dr said to wait for a few weeks, see if it goes away. If not or it intensifies, sounds like we’re off to see a neurologist and start some testing. I can tell you, having had Covid, I’m not taking the vaccine. I’ll take my chances if it comes at me again.

In previously unreported remarks, Dr Fauci supported the contentious gain-of-function experiments that some now fear might have led to an escape from a Wuhan laboratory causing the Covid-19 pandemic, calling them “important work”. An investigation by The Weekend Australian has also confirmed Dr Fauci, the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, did not alert senior White House officials before lifting the ban on gain-of-function research in 2017.

Writing in the American Society for Microbiology in October 2012, Dr Fauci acknowledged the controversial scientific research could spark a pandemic.

“In an unlikely but conceivable turn of events, what if that scientist becomes infected with the virus, which leads to an outbreak and ultimately triggers a pandemic?” he wrote. “Many ask reasonable questions: given the possibility of such a scenario – however remote – should the initial experiments have been performed and/or published in the first place, and what were the processes involved in this decision? “Scientists working in this field might say – as indeed I have said – that the benefits of such experiments and the resulting knowledge outweigh the risks. “It is more likely that a pandemic would occur in nature, and the need to stay ahead of such a threat is a primary reason for performing an experiment that might appear to be risky.”

Sadly, my daughter did as well. It was from work pressure. Her job either requires vaccination or you must wear a mask.
