Ah, but masks have been pushed as if they STOP the virus from spreading and that’s not remotely true.Who is arguing that wearing a cloth mask offers YOU ironclad protection? The primary purpose is to limit the spread of large droplets containing large amounts of coronavirus from a potentially asymptomatic YOU. If we ALL do that, we can limit the spread for the simple reason that a good chunk of the virus is being retained in the mask and the space between your mug and the mask, or at least not traveling as far away from you as it would without a mask. This is not hard. But it does require our freedumb loving brethren to actually be civically minded for once instead of being selfish a-holes.
Except plenty of places in the US did those things and still had the same results as the places that didn’t do those things. How can you not see that? Do I need to tweet it to you?On matters of public health, it is beneficial to have a compliant population who will actually listen and do what public health experts say. Instead, we got a bunch of toddlers who effectively say "That's not what I WANNA do. It's no fun for ME to wear a mask/socially distance."
You must be talking to your POTUS then too. Hours after mandating masks on federal property he is running around without one. Of course that was ok because he was “celebrating”. You’ve been snowed.Sorry for the insults, but it's frustrating when the solutions are so simple and the opposition to those solutions is so stupid and pigheaded.
You equating masks during surgery to masks trying to stop or even slow a virus is way beyond “galactically stupid”.I've come to the conclusion that too many trumpers live in a black and white world, there's no room for discernment or shades of gray. My belief is that it takes too much effort on their part to make distinctions, see subtlety or nuance.
Masks obviously work as a knockdown barrier from slinging expelled germs via saliva or exhalation. The physics offer an undebatable proof as evidenced by the fact that no surgeon would consider doing surgery in a first world operating theater without one. For some one to suggest that since it's not bullet proof it's not worth the effort is galactically stupid.
Yeah, but you're talking pro baseball, only three people care and two are watching re-runs of pro basketball. Here we go just in time for football season Nats-Phils postponed because of Washington’s COVID-19 issues | CIProud.com

Now you want me to shower?Masks, together with personal hygiene and social distancing work to slow the spread. No one has said all or any of those STOPS it. Literally no one.
And you've proven my point that you've refused to take a moment to discern the distinction, subtlety or nuance. It's clearly easier to you to foist a hyperbolic argument than to accept that there are measures that can be taken by society to help prevent the spread.

Since you brought it up (and several of my friends are surgeons), try looking up the peer-reviewed evidence on surgical wound infections and masks. Turns out, they function only to keep nasty ish off the surgeons' faces.Sorry, I'm invoking the appeal to authority since the prevailing peer reviewed science explicitly indicates that source control is a thing (even for a virus.)
