Packed Lollapalooza wraps up with Massive Crowds in Chicago amid fears the four-day concert could become a COVID Super-Spreader Event

  • The four-day music festival will close on Sunday with headliners Foo Fighters playing to 100,000 people
The four-day Lollapalooza music festival was drawing to a close on Sunday, with health officials hoping that they haven't witnessed a super-spreader event.

Organizers were estimating that 100,000 people would attend the event daily for the 30th anniversary celebrations, in Chicago's Grant Park.

The Lollapalooza festival in Chicago, pictured on Saturday, has drawn crowds of 100,000 people every day. Attendees are asked to show proof of vaccination or a negative COVID test at the entrance, but health officials still fear a surge in cases in the coming weeks as a result of the gathering

Only 51.7 per cent of Chicago's residents are fully vaccinated - although on Thursday, organizers said, 90 per cent of those attending provided their vaccination certificates. The other 10 per cent showed negative COVID tests

Rep. Stephanie Murphy (D-FL) made an obscene gesture Friday when asked if Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) “should be arrested for breaking her own mask mandate.”

“Congresswoman Murphy, quick question: do you think Nancy Pelosi should be arrested for breaking her own mask mandate?” a reporter asked Murphy in Washington, DC.

Murphy said nothing but flipped the bird at the lady and kept walking:

Exclusive: More West Texas Border Patrol Agents Test Positive for COVID-19

Three more Border Patrol Agents working at the Eagle Pass, Texas, processing center tested positive for COVID-19 over the weekend, according to a source working under the umbrella of U.S. Customs and Border Protection. The agents were assigned to process migrants apprehended in the Del Rio Sector in a soft-sided structure that is currently holding double its rated capacity.

The total number of Border Patrol agents, according to the source, reached six since Thursday. In addition, at least one Texas Army National Guard soldier working in Eagle Pass also tested positive for the virus. The source, speaking on the condition of anonymity, says the facility is rated at 300 migrants due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The facility is currently holding more than 1,000 migrants.

At least 70 Border Patrol agents in the Rio Grande Valley Sector also tested positive for COVID-19 since October, according to reports last week. A large percentage of those infections occurred in the past few weeks as increasing numbers of migrants are testing positive.

2nd Texas Border City Probes Catholic Charity for Releases of Migrants with COVID

A second city near the Texas border is scrutinizing a charity run by the Catholic Church for releasing COVID-19 positive migrants into their community.

On Thursday afternoon, the City of Weslaco issued a statement revealing that several COVID-19 positive migrants were being housed in a local hotel. The migrants were released from federal custody and booked at the Texas Inn in Weslaco–the same hotel chain involved with a large group of COVID-19 positive migrants in La Joya.

The hotel rooms are paid for by Catholic Charities of the Rio Grande Valley, a group that runs a migrant shelter in McAllen.

In response to an investigation by authorities, the City of Weslaco requested a meeting with the charity to review their COVID quarantine protocols so the surrounding community is not impacted.

Weslaco is the second city to call out the housing of sick migrants in their communities. Earlier this week, the City of La Joya released a health alert over a similar incident. The case began when police responded to a Whataburger where sick migrants were eating and sneezing. When police officers spoke with them, they claimed to have been released by U.S. Border Patrol and were staying at a Texas Inn nearby. According to La Joya Police, the hotel was paid for by Catholic Charities of the RGV.

If the Biden admin gave a s*** about Coronavirus, Trump’s border policy would have remained in place. Completely asinine. Indefensible, by a lot.

Once we get enough people vaccinated we won’t.
So researchers admit that the mass vaccination drive has resulted in quicker mutation then say that the answer is to vaccinate everyone as quickly as possible? How in your head does that statement make coherent sense? The more it mutates the more likely it gets weaker. A virus needs a host to live, the quicker it kills off, the quicker it kills itself.

I get it, nobody likes being told what to do, none of us do. To clarify, I voted for Trump and am not a liberal. I also get that while Trump was in office, the dems did everything in their power to not give him a chance with anything, it was ugly, now the same thing is happening with Biden from the other side. But that said we can get through the pandamic if we work together, it shouldn’t be about politics.
Then you should realize the same people telling you to mask up and vax up today, were encouraging people to avoid/question the vaccine’s efficacy just 8 months ago. “Trump’s vaccine” was going to kill us all or make us all grow a 3rd nipple according to the Left now the Left is accosting anyone who takes their original stance.

The TX GOP leadership gave Cuomo and DeBlasio a massive head start, but that Texas fight ain't to be doubted. Quite a closing kick from Texas to closed the gap and overtake NY.

Population and percentages. But I get why you don’t factor that in. Liberals have figured out one thing quicker and more efficiently than Conservatives; that the vast majority of Americans are lazy and stupid. Innumerable will see 53,400 > 53,266 and think welp NY handled it better. Never mind TX has a population that’s 31% larger than NY. If NY had the same population as TX there would be 75,920 dead > 53,400. But carry on with your hysteria trip.

Fauci was on TV this morning and dismissed the ideas of lockdowns. I just have a bad feeling we are on our way to lockdowns this Fall. I don’t think Red states will, but I bet the Blue states do.
I think Red states like TN, MD (GOP governor), IN, KY (Democratic governor), OH and WV will be amongst those that lockdown. I'm right now on the fence about AR and MS after some of the pro-vaccine stuff I've heard coming out of their mouths.

Boy, if that happens, you can kiss what is left of the economy goodbye. Biden will unite us all in poverty.

There’s a question that I’ve never seen posed or asked (perhaps it has somewhere along the way in some form) but as “transmissible” as Covid supposedly is and given that all theories of pre-infection immunity (blood type, nicotine use, countless others) are dismissed what’s the explanation for so few infections worldwide?

The known number of cases today is 198M worldwide, that’s 2.5% of the worlds population. I’ve seen it estimated that up to 5% of the world has actually been infected, meaning we’ve missed half the cases. The CDC also says that the factor in the US could be 6x-24x higher. Let’s split that difference and call it 15x and carry that across the entire globe, that still means that “only” 2.9B have been infected which is less than 40% of the world.

So under the known scenario, 97.5% of the world has not been “diagnosed” with Covid, “low-end” estimated 95% of the world has not contracted Covid and perhaps worst case scenario, 60% of the world hasn’t contracted Covid. What has kept anywhere from 60-95% of the world Covid free? Luck? Unknown immunity disposition? Inaccurate testing (either direction)? Lifestyle changes/lockdowns?

My governor
I can see Alabama going that route before Tennessee. Kay Ivey has admitted once on TV she has to think about herself as an 80 yr old recovering cancer patient and her health secretary admits he wears a mask in his car by himself. We’re either being run by pawns or cowardice clowns.

I mean, I wouldn't put anything past New York and California and a couple of other blue states, but for the most part I don't see full on lockdowns coming back. Capacity restrictions and things of that nature may very well return, though.

I'm not betting on anything. You might be shocked at what could happen in some of these Red states.
