and our govt is defined. You're asking for increased powers.
Why do you need the govt to run your life and the lives of others? If you're so scared then protect yourself or just lock the door. Either way, make your choice and I'll make mine

I wonder how they "estimate" that 34,000 children there have been affected. That certainly doesn't sound very scientific.

Closer to home, I can tell you that our 3-provider group with a full patient load has not seen a single patient suffer any long-term sequelae after 18 months.

The outcomes of your patients are very good news indeed. I appreciate you sharing them.

With regard to how the number 34,000 was arrived at, the article states: "In total, 11,000 two- to 11-year-olds and 23,000 12- to 16-year-olds are suffering from the condition, the latest ONS survey shows. The figure is based on responses collected from people in private households in the four weeks to 4 July and then extrapolated to the rest of the population."

I'll see whether I can find a more substantive account of the ONS's methodology.

They went from 36 COVID patients to 155 in 2 weeks (155 was their peak last year). She works at the biggest hospital in Louisiana with 800 beds and explains how nobody is built to have 1/4 of their beds taken by one diagnosis. They had 732 total patients admitted in one day and treating the explosion of COVID patients is unsustainable.

I want to see more info on this, fingers are crossed that it's really this effective and that we can get a rollout here if it is
There is a larger trial underway there, and including surrounding areas such as Greece. The initial report is much too small of a sample size to really draw much of a conclusion.

I also asked my fake, ass-clown immunologist friend about EXO-CD24, and he does not know of any current study or usage in the USA.

That's an oversimplification of my thoughts on the issue. I'd like to incentivize people to be careful and responsible about their firerams. If you leave a glock in your car's console and it is stolen I think that's pretty horrendous and deserves some level of responsibility for what it is used for later. If an owner has it in a gun safe and it is stolen that's a lot less culpable. There are many levels in between.
Using that logic, we should arrest/prosecute parents for the actions of their children. For example, if John Hinckley or Mark David Chapman's parents were alive at the time of their crimes, they should have been locked up to. What is more dangerous, a person leaving a gun in their car and it getting stolen or a parent raising a criminal?

Sounds like their regional healthcare systems suck at planning and leadership.

I think they need a new director of medicine. 155 of 713 or 800 is not 1/4, closer to or less than 1/5
If she can’t staff her hospital because of staff CoVid, how could I expect her and her hospital to give me or my loved ones quality treatment.
And with.travel health care professionals she should have every bed available, she just doesn’t want to spend the money
To me her speech reveals more about her shortcomings as an administrator than the neglect of LA citizens

He clearly has the power to let individual school boards make their own decisions on safety protocols in their schools. He's not letting them do that.

This country appears to be tone deaf when it comes to covid. You either take a miracle vaccine or else.

Anecdotally, covid was huge nothing burger for my kids. Pretty much every virus they have gotten since has been worse. This is a disease of the elderly and obese. Which happens to be the majority voting block in America. But let's shut down schools and keep open the burger joints and golf courses.
Largely, I think that’s been true, but I think Delta is proving to be a little more than that.

Or he is siding with personal liberty and letting parents decide what is best for their family
He's dictating to local govt and school boards what they can put can't do. That's not liberty and he would scream if it was done to him
