Latest Coronavirus - Yikes

This isn’t individual businesses making this decision it is the local government.

Desantis says business can't make its own decisions. State can ban business from making decisions like this.

You okay with that? Whose right -- GOP that says businesses have right to decide, or government telling business what to do?

GOP changes its position on this every day. Sometimes by the hour.

Sort of like Fauci changing positions on a weekly basis huh?

No I’m not ok with the LEGISLATION passed by the FL LEGISLATURE and signed by DeSantis.

So cross breeding with a different race could be a good thing if someone discovers how to isolate a virus that will only kill other races? Or it could be just the opposite if you are not "pure bred". World's population could drop by 50-90% depending on who comes up with the most deadly virus first? Or worse?
Ugh! I'd rather just worry about having to wear a mask.

GOE, as always, humans gonna human. It might not be a bad thing for extraterrestrials to show up and take over. We don't have enough sense to get along with each other, so why not? In regard to our country, mainstream society has long gotten away with an attitude of, "I have a big stick, so I can do anything I want to do with you. And there's nothing you can do about it." Now, emerging nations and defiant religio-political factions are answering, "I have a big stick too, and can hurt you as much as you hurt me." In some cases, it's not necessarily military sticks but economic power, like the Saudis and Iranians. Certain ones like the Islamics and Asians have something we lack-PATIENCE. We can bomb the heck out of them. But they just patiently fight on waiting for us to give up and go home with our tails between our legs. Vietnam, Syria, and Afghanistan are the most recent examples of this.

The USA missed its chance by not living up to the ideals in its own Constitution. And failing to practice what we preached to other nations. Instead, the USA engaged in greed-fueled predatory behavior. Yet doing a few good deeds here and there to portray itself as a benevolent, peace-loving country. But folks have now realized the lie and are reacting accordingly. Humans being what they are, copycat the behavior in a turnabout is fair play manner. Then our country decries how (insert derogatory term here) the (insert ethnic group or derogatory term here) are. No, we're not the only bad guys, we're the most visible and consistent practitioners of bad guyism in the eyes of those we participated in exploiting. Basically, we're seeing the chickens coming home to roost. The saddest thing of all is our country is tearing itself apart with the same old historical hate-attitude, just when we need to come together against emerging external threats. Yet appear too stupid to realize or accept this. And our national rivals are taking full advantage of this overtly and covertly across the globe. It feels almost like we want our country to be overthrown.

Why not just lift every restriction and let the chips fall where they may? If all these reports and hospitals being full are as bogus as people here believe, then we've got plenty capacity to work with

Whatever happens, happens.
Heck yeah. Only way things actually end up better. We are constantly playing pretend with all this bs which is why we are collectively, and individually, up to our eye balls in debt.

The longer we keep the bandaid on, the worse it gets. If you have ever wondered how the deficit got as bad as it is, it is this very mindset that created it.

Neither Desantis nor New Orleans are right to mandate one way or another to these businesses. What’s your next spectacular failure of a point?

The Delta variant first appeared in India about 6 months before the vaccine was rolled out. Vaccines don’t cause variants.
CNN and their sources didn’t get that memo when they rolled out a headline that led with researchers said mutations were to be expected with mass vaccinations so quickly.

It almost seems that what better explains the Republicans actions is not some philosophical principle about the role of government, but whether some particular course of conduct owns the libs.

You do know they haven't even started school yet don't you?
Lolololololol.

https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.miamiherald.com/news/local/education/article253072883.html

"The first day of school in Broward County is Aug. 18. District officials expect most of the system’s roughly 269,000 students to return to in-person learning."

Darn that DeathSentence for killing teachers in schools one week before students ever show up.

He wont ever acknowledge how stupid he was to bring up the tweet.

Isn’t the school start date for broward county the 18th of august?

Sad that they died though. All for masking indoors if high risk but don’t think you can say they died from any school policy. Also the article says that three were unvaccinated and unknown status of 4th
yep
You would think this stunning number of educators dead from COVID in such a short time period, with less than one week before school begins,

And we know how el loves to see deaths from the unvaxxed

Fusco said three of the teachers who died were unvaccinated. It is not clear if the fourth teacher had been vaccinated.

Teachers gather for in-service training at least a week, often more, before students return to school.
