Williamson County, Tennessee: Some parents lash out at board that reinstated mask mandate in elementary schools - CNN

"But a group who opposed the mask requirement gathered outside, and video obtained by CNN shows crowds heckling masked people as they left the session, with one man telling the driver of a vehicle, "We know who you are. You can leave freely, but we will find you." A Williamson County Sheriff's Office sergeant is seen imploring the crowd to be peaceful."

My most sincere apologies for using CNN as a 'source'. I shall ritually discipline myself shortly.

Amazingly, my office was able to continue our full patient load through the entire winter, despite myself and several other staff members having CV19 at different times. We helped each other out, got creative with a quarantined nurse secluded in the basement doing phone duty when needed, did remote work on charts/refills/etc.... Office revenue was maintained, and we're still paying our taxes.

Some people really underestimate how a well-run business can handle adversity.

It's quite incredible. My wife and I own a business and I work at another. Both had Covid, as did many other employees. Both businesses worked all year, except for 2 weeks at the one I work at.

Evil is such a defeatist.

Rand Paul failed to disclose that his wife owns stock in a company that developed a COVID treatment. Doesn't seem like a big deal, the article said less than $15k was invested and they've actually lost money. The potential gains (she bought at $74/share) weren't enough for even the biggest swindler to push for.

She’s merely a mouthpiece for the talking points she’s told to propagate. Nothing more nothing less.

I’m sure that but was just a mistake…..

For those troubled by math, that makes the actual number of children hospitalized actually only 19 a day in a state of 29 million people, rather than the initial report of 829 per day. That's an error in the magnitude of 44x.

And you wonder why many of us doubt media reports...

Addendum: for scale/reference, that rate would equate to roughly 4 admissions/day for the entire state of Tennessee (say: 1 at Le Bonheur, 2 at Vandy, and 1 between East TN Children's and Erlanger). Of course, 99% of those will be discharged in good shape within a couple of days.

Justice Amy Barrett Denies Appeal from Indiana University Students Fighting COVID-19 Vaccine Mandate

Barrett denied the request without consulting the full court

Supreme Court Justice Amy Coney Barrett denied an appeal from students at Indiana University to block the school’s vaccine mandate.

Barrett, who has jurisdiction over the appeals court involved in the case, denied the students request for an injunction against Indiana University’s vaccine mandate on her own without consulting other colleagues on the court and without hearing from the school.

Why not just lift every restriction and let the chips fall where they may? If all these reports and hospitals being full are as bogus as people here believe, then we've got plenty capacity to work with

Whatever happens, happens.

Yep that is what should be done.
