Latest Coronavirus - Yikes

Great memories of debates with philosophy students and professor Smith. Tearing theories apart and asking why. The younger students sitting there clueless. I think it was put on the back shelf of my mind because it really has no relevance in my life.
Ah, all those philosophers who sit around theorizing and arguing with each other and how their theory is correct or why someone else theory is wrong, I understand why that’s your niche especially when it comes to societies and law.

Dallas officials announce that there are NO pediatric ICU beds available due to COVID. So, should a child be in an accident, suffer pediatric cardiac or pulmonary distress, or sustain an injury requiring me intensive care - it’s not available to them.

'Your child will wait for another child to die.' Amid Covid-19 surge, Dallas County has no pediatric ICU beds left, county judge says - CNN

Don’t you think you should be asking yourself why CNN is quoting a county judge for this story?

Did you read the whole article? It states that there aren’t beds because there isn’t enough staff. It does not explicitly say that it’s due to an overwhelming number of kids with Covid in ICU but that’s their implied intent. What CNN isn’t telling you is that Texas has one of the highest RSV rates in the country right now. Two hospitals in the DFW area just last week treated 500 kids for RSV.

My practice: RSV admits this summer = 8 +/- 1
CV19 admits 18 months: 2

Children's is busy but not overwhelmed, right now. Total CV patients? 4

I think the world has passed you by, the first primary skill of nurses is creating dancing Tik Tok videos. Patient care is still in the top 10, but think how many of your patients would be instantly healed and walk out of the hospital if they saw a video of their floor nurses dancing to Thriller.
You know I did a travel rotation at that hospital. Yes the very ICU with the dancing nurses. Some could dance but nursing a sick pt wasn’t their priority. A few were lazy and entitled. The rest did their jobs even with nursing shortages. That unit had a manager problem.
I think sometimes schools that are producing nurses don’t push person ethics enough.

88% effectiveness for Pfizer

With the BNT162b2 vaccine, the effectiveness of two doses was 93.7% (95% CI, 91.6 to 95.3) among persons with the alpha variant and 88.0% (95% CI, 85.3 to 90.1) among those with the delta variant. With the ChAdOx1 nCoV-19 vaccine, the effectiveness of two doses was 74.5% (95% CI, 68.4 to 79.4) among persons with the alpha variant and 67.0% (95% CI, 61.3 to 71.8) among those with the delta variant.

So now the “vaccine” is verging on the effective levels of the flu shot. Also please stop calling it a vaccine. It’s not.

Most people who get natural immunity will be at home sick and/or quarantined for 14 days, removing taxes and productivity from the economy that outstrips the cost of the vaccine.
Alot of people in this country deserve to be oppressed. We are a spoiled, arrogant and ignorant society.
You forgot entitled.

This is what happens when you let outsiders in. Illegal immigration in TX? Cases spiking in south TX. Tourist season in FL? Cases spiking. Tourist season on AL gulf coast? Cases spiking.

Our work sent out a 22 page PDF file today showing Covid cases in every county we operate in in the Southeast. Out of 82 retail locations in roughly 65-70 counties, we have 4 counties where we operate who have seen an increase over the last 90 days and the bulk of that has happened in the last 30-45. Mobile and Baldwin County, AL (Gulf Shores/Orange Beach/Dauphin Island), Hidalgo County, TX (McAllen) and Gwinnett County, GA (metro ATL). On an obvious note, it’s directly related to the amount of traffic in those areas; illegal immigration in TX and tourism driven in the others. But I find it interesting that despite extremely low vaccination rates in everyone of those counties (none higher than 32%) cases were flat until the boarder crossings and full on beach season took place. We weren’t spreading it amongst ourselves in these areas, for whatever reason. Given that it’s TX and AL and mask mandates have been gone for a while, in south TX and south AL it’s been warm since February or March so people we’re definitely out moving around. It’s all happened in earnest when outside groups came into these areas.

I see the playpen around the kiddie table didn't keep you in. Run along son and let the adults talk.

The White House Wants to Achieve Herd Immunity By Letting the Virus Rip. That is Dangerous and Inhumane.

I can clearly see the costs of lockdowns. ND had a point. How do you ignore billions paid out to stay home vs lost tax revenue for those who got covid?
You lost 2 weeks of tax revenue from me, I didn’t take 1 check from the .gov. Haven’t missed a day of work since I recovered from covid. So $567 in federal taxes vs the $3600 I didn’t take. You do the math.
