And this idiot administration wonders why people don’t listen to their experts and their bull ****
Between this and DeSantis calling them out and forcing them to tell the real stats...i don't understand how anyone with a tiny bit of common sense cant trust the CDC..and this administration..blows my mind

To the unvaccinated, anti-mask & anti-vax folks.

If you dont trust the medical field to prevent you from getting COVID19, then why do you trust them to cure you when you catch it?

Stand strong. Stay home. Don't overwhelm the Hospitals because you were wrong.

Do pharmaceutical companies treat you when you get sick or is it hospitals and doctors?

I get what you're saying, but it's not the same people.

Dang, how did they manage in December when cases were more than double what they are now.

I'm both blessed and cursed to have a very wide range of medical experts in my life. High school and college friends with MDs and DOs and RNs and PAs, Fraternity brothers with the same plus several working in medical research or with military medical. Plus, my life saving teams of doctors from 2013 who still follow my case, the team who got me through early sepsis this past February, my wound care teams...

Their messaging, even among the most conservative and homeopathic of the lot, has been to get the damn vaccine, mask up in public, and get tested if you feel sick.

They also consistently say that the worries over vaccine side effects and long term issues are overblown and politicized and the science is very consistent on the efficacy and safety.

I have trouble believing that this wide range of medical professionals would all be in on a groupthink kowtow-to-the-government conspiracy (especially my favorite PCP MD, who homeschools all of his kids, farms a good portion of the family food, bikes to and from work, and prays over and lays hands on his patients as part of his personal care philosophy, and who also recommends masking and getting the vax).

I think maybe, just maybe, there's a good portion of us who are just too anti-sheep and woke up (but not woke) for our own collective good.

It’s different everywhere. Highest we got in my county back in December was around 120 cases a day. We’re up over 160 now. Thankfully, the severity isn’t what it was, but we’re right on the edge as far as hospital capacity.

I wish the govt/medical field would do a better job of getting that out there.

Largely imo it seems there's 2 responses to someone that has questions about the timeframe changes in the vaccine's development, long term unknown side effects, or questions about immunity for the pharmaceutical companies from lawsuits:

1. I don't care about you're concerns. Get the shot.
2. You're just anti-vax or a conspiracy theorist. Get the shot.

That's not going to change the minds of the unvaccinated that are actually able to be changed.

Too late, been to the gym, Dunkin Donuts, Lowe’s and ate Chick Fil A with Rand Paul already and it’s only 2pm.

You've got to be kidding.

I know if the CDC put me in charge of their messaging to get more people vaccinated, I'd say that studies have proven that the vaccine caused penis sizes to increase by 50%, breast size to increase by a cup and weight loss in overweight people down to normal weights. They already lie about things, what's it gonna hurt.

Nope.

This board is not representative of the general population. Thank God.
Actually this board isn’t far off I’d guess. Most of us seem to be vaccinated and most of us also believe we should manage our own health situations as we are responsible for them not the damn government. And that lines up well with my own interactions with people outside this board regardless of political leaning. Thank God.

I am a bit skeptical that someone in the homeopathic field would recommend the vaccine. Maybe to someone that is older, maybe, but in general isn't that whole field based off the belief that your body doesn't need a vaccine? I would think they would be more likely to recommend supplements like Vitamin C, D, Zinc, etc. Then if you had to get the vaccine offer up some form of detox for your body post shots.

I do agree that they would recommend getting tested, along with taking proper measures to prevent spread. Probably some divide on mask wearing, atleast on a case by case basis.
