Latest Coronavirus - Yikes

A year ago today we hovered around 50,000 daily cases. Now we are at around 150,000 a day. Deaths per day seem roughly equal or even lower today than same period last year.

So is Delta really worse?

More contagious, less deadly.

The part I'd consider "worse" is that it seems to be hitting kids more than the early strains did.

For comparison, there has been one death in the 0-10 age group and 2 in the 11-20 group, statewide, since the appearance of the Delta variant. There were 5 in each group from the last wave/year. It is my understanding that most, if not all, had significant comorbid conditions.

Certainly more cases in kids, but the hospitalization rate per case does not appear higher.

Meh, he needs to burn in hell.

When MLK was shot, Jesse was able to get some of MLK's blood on his shirt and then went around Chicago the next day waving the bloody shirt around saying the he cradled MLK in his arms as he was dying.
Jesse has been about the spotlight forever. I still can’t wish a person to burn in hell though.

No Delta is following natural laws. The virus has mutated but gotten weaker which is what usually happens. The weird part is that, viruses dont usually mutate this fast.

I tested positive for C19 yesterday. I’m fully vaccinated but due for a booster - as a health care worker, my second dose was in early January.

Thus far, my symptoms are mild - a little drainage and some minor fatigue. Because I’m asthmatic and overweight, I qualified for monoclonal antibody therapy. My infusion was this morning.

I’m resting, taking care of myself and hoping the vaccine and monoclonal antibody therapy help me fight off this nasty bug.

I would encourage you to get vaccinated if you haven’t. I literally have been nowhere but my home and my office. My husband works from home. But I somehow picked up Delta. It’s just that contagious. Stay safe and healthy, fellow Vols.
Hope it stays mild and you make a quick recovery!

More people Are vaccinated now vs then. Vaccinated people can still be infected but much have much less symptoms than unvaccinated people on average. That also lowers the death rate

And sweating so much my prosthetic leg falls off because I have a suction system instead of a pin lock system.

It's actually much funnier than it sounds.
It's no worse than I sweat in TN. I would also think saying you don't "understand the draw of that state" would include more than just a personal anecdote. Personally my family is thankful every day to live down here. Best place we've found since I left TN
