Siena poll: Strong majority want early March data before lifting school mask mandate – troyrecord

But, I don’t like “misinformation” from researchers either. On further review….

New Siena poll measures New Yorkers’ attitude on masks, crime, Cuomo and more

So, to recap. They asked if mask should stay on, if they should’ve been off, or if they should come off next week. Right off the bat, they split the no mask options.

Then, they tout a “strong majority” 58% believe masks in schools should stay. But that includes people that don’t have school aged children.

So when they separate out only those who have school aged children, a “plurality” of 46% still think masks should stay on.

But the lede that was buried is that 53% of parents of students think mask should be off or come off by next Monday.

NY sucks.

Yeah, I've seen that. I wish we could get age-stratified data. One thing for certain: I will guarantee you that nobody is going to find a statistically-significant decrease in hospitalization/adverse outcome rates between the naturally-recovered and the naturally-recovered + mRNA shot groups of young people.

More good hospital news: the hospitalization rate for Omicron was down to 0.7% (from the previous 0.9% during Delta). Mortality rate in Tennessee for the 0-20 age group has fallen to 0.004%, nearly all with significant comorbidities. Positivity rate in local kids has fallen from nearly 50% last month to less than 5%.

Sinister and evil..Government can never been seen to fail, especially today

Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot made an important announcement on Tuesday: The Windy City won’t be imposing mask and vaccine mandates after February 28. Unfortunately, the lifting of mask mandates won’t include those least susceptible to Covid and most emotionally vulnerable: Schoolchildren.

“Chicago will lift its mask and proof-of-vaccine mandates next week, but Chicago Public School students, teachers and employees must keep their masks on — at least for the time being,’ the Sun-Times reported.

Stacey Abrams: Georgia should 'follow the science' on mask-wearing
Georgia has one of the lowest vaccination rates of any state. Fifty-three percent of residents are fully vaccinated and 18% of residents have received a booster, according to the New York Times vaccine tracker. The state on Monday recorded a daily average of 20 cases per 100,000 people, which marks a 66% decline from two weeks prior, the Times shows.

By comparison, in Connecticut, 70% of residents are fully vaccinated and 33% have received a booster, according to the Times. The state on Monday recorded a daily average of 21 cases per 100,000 people, which comprises a 76% decline over the past two weeks, the Times found.

Despite its low vaccination rate, Georgia boasts one of the lowest rates of COVID cases per capita of any state, according to the Times.

"We have some of the highest infection rates — and that means we have to be very intentional about when we relax our mandates, and that we have to have plans," Abrams says.

Hey everyone.

I'm alive, I can smell and taste again, but damn Covid has been a pain. One day I'm right as rain, the next day I'm falling asleep at every opportunity. I can't concentrate on things, so I'd be even more of a mess here than normal.

Thanks for those of you who expressed concern. I appreciate it greatly.

Glad to hear you are doing well. My brother had a light case of it a few weeks ago as well. Thankfully my natural immunity seemed to provide protection for me as I was around him the entire time he was "quarantining" at the office.
