Broken toenail in 2013 let an infection into the soft tissues and bone. Two doctors saw the toe that week and it looked ok. It got in the bloodstream and went haywire. Got a two week power nap out of it. Spent three months total in the hospital.

I'm not diabetic, but it does run in my family. I have my A1C checked regularly and have managed to not come up even pre-diabetic.

It's just one of those freak things that happened. Got some new tech and several great stories out of it, though
