Here's the chart you wanna look at, comparing per capita deaths for the US, Taiwan, New Zealand, and Australia (just plug those countries in if they're not already in the chart). This is from July 1, 2021 to the present. The last three countries had almost no prior exposure to COVID. Despite this, they've still kicked the US's ass when it comes to per Capita COVID deaths since July 2021. Other than Taiwan, which very briefly had a higher 7 day rolling average, no one comes close to matching the deaths in the US--even with all the prior exposure (and this protection) the US had from March 2020-July 2021.
