Latest Coronavirus - Yikes

For our HC professionals - does this look like a positive test? Instructions said the "T" could be extremely faint and indeed it is. Just not sure what "extremely" means.

Symptoms - feels like head cold; gunk in sinuses behind nose. Definitely don't feel good but no fever, smell and taste intact.

Thanks in advance

Your symptoms are the same as mine right now but only congested on my right side. Can’t comment on the test, I’ve never taken one.
First lady Jill Biden tests positive for COVID-19 once again in rebound case

So does that Paxlovid really do anything? Sounds like snake oil to me
Paxlovid does taste like metal for days…that’s from the crowd at work.

Why play the test game? It’s likely a cold, so treat it like we all did a cold forever until two years ago. Does it really matter what kind of cold it is? IMO that’s how we get past this and get on with our lives.

This is also a reasonable approach. I have stopped "recommending" testing, but rather offering it only if needed for school or work purposes.

I did, Went to work and didn't mention the positive test. Done with that protocol garbage

because my university has policies I'm inclined to follow unless I have a very good reason not to.

FYI - retook this morning and it's clearly showing positive.

Understood, re-reading my comment it might have come off more brusque than I intended. I hope you get well soon.

Does the university require a test for any cold symptoms? If you had a regular cold would you have to test everyday to prove it wasn't the "banned" type?

no worries

It's not rigid; honor system. This came on pretty fast and hard and since I had a test I figured I should do it. It's bad enough that I would take off work for it and now I have no choice.

Biden administration plans for End of COVID-19 Shot, Treatment Coverage — WSJ

End of government underwriting of such medicines could lead to windfall for drugmakers

The Biden administration is planning for an end to its practice of paying for COVID-19 shots and treatments, shifting more control of pricing and coverage to the healthcare industry in ways that could generate sales for companies — and costs for consumers — for years to come.

Good, let's see who is a proponent when they actually have to pay and who pays for the shots. Will be pretty simple.

Those symptoms sound like what I had early in the year. Turned into a nasty sinus infection but I didn't lose taste and smell until about a week after symptoms started. Took 3 months to come back.
