Latest Coronavirus - Yikes

And that makes it right?

And usually, these changes in terms don't have anywhere near the same ramifications as a mandatory medical procedure. Usually, we're in the realm of dress code changes, changes in benefits, or changes in job duties.

Lastly, had this thing been allowed to roll the way they wanted it to go before the Supreme Court stepped in, then there would have been no alternatives (or very few) for many of these high specialized employees. Airline pilots and medical professionals, for example would have likely been in a situation where they would not have been able to continue their careers without getting the jab because there would not be any (or many) options available.

I think most people at least on this board were against the government mandating certain size and types of industries require the vaccine. I doubt very many companies would have mandated the vaxx had it not been for the .gov forcing them to.

Which is another part of this story. Just how much of this was driven by the govt stepping in to either threaten or persuade these companies to move towards mandates? I think had this been an ideal free market situation without govt intervention, then you might (might) be right... there might have been half or close to half of companies choosing to mandate and others choosing not to. But we did see that early on, and what happened? The hospitals that came out first with their own mandates ended up having a significant number of people jumping ship to other locations. Once the feds got wind of this and saw what was happening, I think this is what motivated them to come up with the OSHA trick. You likely also had some of these big employers whining to the govt about losing employees to other companies that didn't mandate the jab.

So basically you're making it up now to fit your view. Better have something more than that if you're approaching breach of contact. Very few people have actually employment contacts anymore anyways.
I clearly said earlier that I think breach of contract is a bit strong. But it clearly is a gigantic leap from just a dress code violation.

I doubt a 1/4 would have mandated the vaxx had it not been for the federal government.

Possibly... I think you are being a bit optimistic with that 1/4 number. But again, you and @utvolpj are making a free market argument with regards to employers being able to change the rules of the game when we all know that the govt played a big role in all of this. But in addition, there is a significant difference between 99% of most company policy changes and mandating a medical procedure.

Imagine being threatened by a parody account

Imagine any government agency threatening , intimidating or working with town square social platforms to silence accounts they don’t approve of after trying to start a federal agency of disinformation and propaganda. The fact that we are not hearing an unmatched outcry from a party that’s literally named “ liberals “ is very telling about how quickly that party is progressing back to its authoritarian roots .

We are going to have to redefine our leftist friends political group if we want to be honest with people .

They aren’t Liberal. They are Progressive.

If the LGB community can re-claim the word “queer” - I see no reason the same can’t be done with “liberal”

I’ve been overly protective of private platforms (e.g., Facebook, Twitter) to regulate their own content as they see fit. To do business with whomever they choose.

I’ve defended their right to be openly hostile to conservative ideas, and to promote progressive ideas.

That email is just disgusting though. That is something wholly different.

I actually don’t blame the fringe progressives for being who they are . I blame the idiot liberals for allowing their party to be taken over by coastal elites and wacka doodles that they ( the working class party ) themselves use to make fun of . There’s no “progression “ when you go from a hard working middle class base , to tree hugging , drag queens and free spirited parents that wants minor children to be able to receive puberty blockers and gender reassignment surgery . That is called regression not progression.

Oh I’m not trying to argue whether they actually progress society with their policies!

Somewhere along the way (in this country) the term “liberal” completely lost its meaning.

I completely agree with you . All private platforms ( business should be allowed to have their own policies and rules. In my mind I start to be really concerned when we learn ( after the fact ) that they have crawled into bed with the federal government and are both actively working to remove or add to their platforms in order to push a narrative that the government has decided is needed or not needed .

Federal Govt - “Take this down”
Private Business - “on it now!”

Really?

That is not private business exercising it’s rights. That is the federal government dictating what is approved messaging.

And that, is wholly un-American.

I know the fringe is on both sides but I’ve spent the majority of my life as a democrat surrounded by hard core southern Dems and it is even hard to listen to my family now talk about how racist , authoritarian, antiquated, and vulgar the republicans are . I usually just set there staring at them thinking .. you know that, I know right ? I’m not some outsider that doesn’t know your ass . 😂

No way I can go over to vote GOP, but I can't see voting for anyone the democrats have to offer for the foreseeable future. They've lost any semblance of standing up for the working class and its absolutely mind blowing. The GOP handed them the country on a silver platter and they've just determined the best path is to one up them in self destruction.

It's the same thing with Rs. They arent conservative in any manner now. They spend money, they get involved in peoples lives and other countries business, they support riled up bases and words over action. The active push in the "conserative" base is to become more like the "liberals", turning their actions back on them.

It's a technocracy and companies that should champion freedoms are just towing the line for the feds.
