Latest Coronavirus - Yikes

Trying to figure out how viruses work?

Hmmm so we have a supposed COVID vaccine. We also have medications that fight COVID. But we don’t know how viruses work? are you freaking serious right now? There is absolutely ZERO ethical reasons to create a vastly, vastly, vastly more deadly strain of COVID.

We do? Why are they still killing people? Even ones we have known of for decades.

I don't know what's going on there, but I'm not leaping to some vast geopolitical conspiracy as my first step.

Who said anything about a vast conspiracy? How about in light of the events of the last 3 years we just go with irresponsible stupidity?

Covid targets those with weakened immune systems like T1D/T2D (larger portion of 2020 deaths). Instead create a super virus and talk about capping insulin.

You say that with a straight face after the last 2 years? 1984, Minority Report and Atlas Shrugged were supposed to be works of fiction.

Reading this makes my mad all over again. In case anybody wonders why the unvaccinated won't let it go now that we have been proven right here is a reminder of what we had to go through and put up for 2 years. Unvaccinated people were the most marginalized and discriminated group of people since what happened to the Jews in the 30s.

In late 2021 and early 2022, it was commonplace for journalists and public intellectuals to demonize and shame “the unvaccinated,” a group that in the United States was disproportionately low income. The New York Times ran pieces like “I’m Furious at the Unvaccinated,” and “Unvaxxed, Unmasked and Putting Our Kids at Risk.” The Los Angeles Times published a column titled “Mocking anti-vaxxers’ COVID deaths is ghoulish, yes—but may be necessary.” An opinion piece called “The Unvaccinated Are a Risk to All of Us” appeared in Bloomberg, and The Washington Post printed a piece called “Macron is right: It’s time to make life a living hell for anti-vaxxers.”

Now that I’m past the worst of it, I’d rank Covid as slightly worse than a common cold (due to the extreme sore throat and chills) but definitely not as severe as the flu, at least in my anecdotal experience. I never really lost my energy or felt tired, which is odd.
Glad you're doing well. My wife and I are also just getting over it. Second time for me, first for her. Her symptoms were almost identical to the ones you describe, mine almost non existent other than a runny nose. We are both 48 with no real risk factors and unvaccinated.

Twindemic goes along with double masking I guess.

Can't believe that double masking was actually a thing.

Dr I am Science™ told us that "If you have a physical covering with one layer, you put another layer on, it just makes common sense that it likely would be more effective". Appealing to common sense and making claims such as "likely would be" are indicators of Science™
