  • Arrivals from China to the US will now be required to test negative for Covid
The US will require all incoming travelers from China to submit proof of a negative Covid test before entering the nation starting January 5, officials announced today.

It comes amid fears rampant spread of the virus in China could have led to the formation of a new, more dangerous, strain of the virus. The country as reportedly suffered an explosion of Covid cases in recent weeks after abruptly ending its draconian 'zero-Covid policy'.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has expressed concerns about the limited information that has come from China in the wake of this explosion.

Restrictions on Chinese citizens exiting their country were recently lifted. Previously, residents had to prove they had an important reason to travel abroad. Now, they can leave for tourism purposes. Around 75 flights arrived in the US from Beijing alone between December 26 and 28. Upwards of 250 flights from China's capital may already have reached the US before the order goes into effect.

American officials said: ‘There are mounting concerns in the international community on the ongoing Covid surges in China and the lack of transparent data, including viral genomic sequence data, being reported from [China].

Rep. Katie Porter blamed staffer for Infecting her with COVID-19

Rep. Katie Porter (D-CA) is under scrutiny after a former staffer released a text exchange in which the congresswoman blamed her for giving her COVID-19.

The exchange garnered attention after it was shared on the Dear White Staffers Twitter account, which shares stories of workplace grievances and advocates a better work environment for Hill staffers. While the account tweeted that the staffer was fired after both she and Porter contracted the coronavirus, the congresswoman's office said she was a fellow whose contract was almost up.

"I cannot allow you back in the office, given your failure to follow office policies," Porter wrote in the screenshots of the exchange with staffer Sasha Georgiades. "Cody will be in touch about having your personal effects shipped or delivered to your home, and will lay out your remote work schedule and responsibilities for your last few weeks."

There is no outbreak its the communist government refusing to admit they were wrong for caving in to the protesters

Seems like the smart thing to do when China turned people loose would have been to immediately refuse to accept anyone coming from China either directly or indirectly. Of course, we have problems with secure borders ... especially when dems are running things.

Got a Peloton for Christmas. I received maybe 10 emails discussing the option of "threshold delivery," reminding me to wear a mask and practice social distancing, and asking if I've been around anyone with cold or COVID symptoms in the past 14 days. The delivery guys and I had a good time with that.

I gave my wife a Peloton for Christmas a few years ago. According to her thats the best gift I've ever given her .....I hope you enjoy your bike as much as she has hers!
