People in the federal government need to go to jail and all the lackies that stayed quiet need to be fired from their government positions. We suicided our economy and ruined many people’s lives over this. There needs to be real and significant pain levied on all the perpetrators

The U.S. officials who had visited the lab and made the warning via the cable were not permitted to return, because they were asking “too many questions,” according to Asher.


At the very least, negligence. Sue the everlasting **** out of them.

I still think that lab needs a real dose of hellfire - the kind hot enough to destroy it completely along with the lab monkeys and any pathogens, viruses or whatever they've accumulated there. The State Dept cable is downright scary. There is at least one comprehensive article discussing the French built lab; I'm pretty certain the research behind it stated that the Coronavirus work was being carried out at level 3 or below - not level 4. If the lab was unable to find researchers competent to work in the level 4 lab as the State Dept says, that would make sense.

There's another issue here, too. The French and Germans (and some others) are far too willing to sell technology to people who shouldn't have it. Giving China a lab and access to the disease samples they already have (the hemorrhagic types discussed in the State cable) is like handing over a F-1 racing car to a kid. At least as of the Jan 2018, they hadn't been able to get their hands on the Ebola virus. Beyond just the safety implications, I'd fully expect the Chinese to be weaponizing these viruses. The French (and Germans - just not this time) need their hands slapped HARD.

There are German, Austrian, and Dutch ties to equipment used in Iran's nuclear program. This kind of technology flow from people who should know better needs to end.
