NIH Restarts EcoHealth Alliance Grant, Watchdog Outraged

Despite Republican opposition in Congress, National Institutes of Health (NIH) is restarting the controversial grant to the EcoHealth Alliance (EHA), which provided subgrants to the Wuhan Institute of Virology.

Former President Donald Trump ended the grant three years ago during the start of COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, last funding the controversial bat coronavirus research in 2019 at $661,980.

EHA Director Peter Daszak's group had been receiving the grant since 2014 under the Obama administration, for a total of more than $3.7 million. The $576,290 grant for the 2023 restart, which was funded April 26 for four years and began May 1, will run the total to Daszak's group to more than $4.32 million through this year from NIH under this grant alone.

"The batty taxpayer-funded grant that bankrolled EcoHealth Alliance's dangerous animal experiments in Wuhan that probably prompted the pandemic should be defunded, not re-funded," White Coat Waste Project Senior VP Justin Goodman wrote in a statement emailed to Newsmax. "We first exposed and ended EHA's calamitous collaboration with the Wuhan animal lab back in April 2020, and since uncovered how EHA violated a federal ban on gain-of-function research, repeatedly broke transparency law, and obstructed investigations into COVID's origins.

They should have invited some of the children damaged by senseless lockdowns, health care workers who were mocked, harassed, or fired for standing up to the BS narrative, business owners whose lives have been destroyed, and victims of mRNA shot injuries. That way, the graduates might actually learn something and never let this happen again.

Can you imagine how much worse things would have been if we hadn't caged up the younger segment of the population, had offered inexpensive, effective therapeutics like other countries did around the world, and didn't push the development of new variants by mandating ineffective mRNA shots?

You might check the stats on the number of people worldwide killed by the virus, which, by the way, is still a problem in some places. Multiple cyclists in the Tour of Italy have contracted Covid in the last few days, for example. China was in total lockdown for months after the U.S got back to normal.

Why don't we poll U.S. health-care workers and ask them if Covid was a serious health threat or not? A totally stupid comment. They were putting their lives on the line, taking care of Covid patients, ace. The only people who were harassed and mocked were teachers and principals, by a bunch of redneck MAGA. Victims of the vaccine? Check the stats on how many people have been vaxxed.

The world doesn't care if you didn't want to wear a mask for 10 minutes while you were in public places, Ace. The government's job is to work to protect its citizens from major health threats, whether you like it or not.

There have been times when I thought we certainly needed them and times I was thrilled that we didn't have them. If I lived and worked in a union state, I'm sure I would have a more informed opinion.

Masks didn't prevent it, and neither did the vaccine. The CDC itself has publicly stated as much, you have no high horse to sit on.

Even the folks who believe in masks ought to admit that its only "possible" benefit is in protecting the wearer. It doesn't protect the guy sitting next to you...so if you're someone who's still paranoid about this stuff, wear a mask. Go for it

You're probably right. I should check with someone who knows more about CV19 and has spent the last 3 years taking care of CV patients. My apologies.

As for U.S. "government health officials," also an excellent point. A fairly easy internet search will demonstrate how much more effective our strategies were vs other countries that did not close down private businesses, send kids home for a year or more, fill skate parks with sand, and lock up gyms and tennis courts.

It sounds like you worship at the altar of government. I can tell you with certainty that most of those bureaucrats you revere are just regular joe’s looking for a paycheck and good retirement plan. Some of them you would wonder how they found their way to and from work everyday. And some of them you’d wonder if they ever actually went to work.

Regardless, if you are looking for thr “experts” to give you direction, it should be abundantly clear that we need new experts. The ones taking up all the oxygen during the pandemic got almost nothing right, common sense outperformed the “experts”. Open your eyes chief.
