Latest Coronavirus - Yikes

Yea it takes a lot of effort and knowledge to put one on but maybe you would struggle with it.

Are you intentionally being an ass or do you do it and not realize it? If you don't realize you should really work on that. If do you realize you can gth.

Anyway you do you and I'll do me.
As asked earlier, is it an N95 mask? If not, which their is a high chance it isn’t, then it’s 100% useless. If it is then good job tracking it down.

Can wearing a face mask protect you from the new coronavirus?

I'm not sure. The description say it use is to help protect against the cold an flu which are both viruses. Maybe I wasted a couple of bucks. I also have a respirator for painting if it comes down to that I'm sure has a higher rating than that of a simple surgical mask.

My point in my original post was that the mask are getting hard to find. Typically if you don't find them on amazon then something is up.

Did you click that link I provided and compare the filtration efficiencies and ratings to what you have?

Hate to break it to you, but odds are pretty high the masks you bought won’t help you at all, if you come in contact with someone who has this.
Health care professionals know how to put the mask on correctly, aren’t likely to let down their guard due to a false sense of safety, and wash their hands constantly. But hey thanks for contributing to the mask shortage that could happen for medical professionals. But you do you.

So we've went from they won't do any good to I'm probably too stupid to put it on correctly to thanks for contributing to the shortage. If doing me if wrong I don't want to be right!

No, we went from the WHO saying you probably won’t put it on correctly, to it will create a false sense of security, to odds are what you you bought is useless unless it’s a specific mask. Which you still haven’t answered. But hey hopefully you got the right one. Odds aren’t in your favor, but I sincerely hope you did. Or maybe you didn’t, and I provided you with information stating that what you bought won’t help, and that’s probably information you would want to know.

I think the quotes speak for themselves but you can keep doing you. I'll keep doing me. Maybe at least one of us will be happy. Thanks for your concern though, I think.

N95 respirator masks advertise a particulate filtration down to .3 microns. I’ve seen where this virus is at .1 microns, so small enough to not be filtered effectively. Masks will not make anyone bullet proof But I’m in the school of thought of better safer than sorry so I have some as well.

If you have masks, please take the time to view some online training as to the proper way to fit and wear them.

If it ever gets bad enough in the US for masks, don’t forget that you’ll also need disposable gloves and real good eye protection as well. Your regular vision glasses likely won’t work for providing protection so you may want to look into something that will provide real good coverage over them when going out into the pubic.

If you’re unfamiliar with basic disaster preparedness look into various online resources to figure out what needs you and your family would have. It’s more than just stashing back some rice and beans😉

The “quotes” are my take away from the articles I linked. Which are direct conclusions from the doctors quoted in the links. If I came off as condescending then I apologize. Was not my intent. And I am quite happy with me doing me and I assume you are happy with you doing you.

The #1 thing to have for a disaster is a gun and plenty of ammo so you can keep your supplies or take your neighbors when yours run out.

Those are exhale filtration masks for the wearer. They’ll help keep other folks somewhat safe from you breathing out virus laden air.

I’ll probably just die , I can’t breath in one , never have been able to . Lol

Maybe you should work on your delivery. I may not be a genius but I am fully capable of putting on a surgical mask. I may not have purchased the one rated the best for this application but that's all that I could find at the time.

I used to wear one with charcoal filters for an hour or two at a time while spraying greenhouse chemicals. Talking about hearing yourself breathing. It was like a sc-fi movie .
