Yeah and it's a baby animal at that.Agreed.
As for those talking about killing feral cats/dogs, that's apples and oranges because this was a KNOWN PET owned by a resident of the apartment. This wasn't some feral animal killing Pappy's prize laying hen...... it was a PET.
Let someone abuse your pet dog and then tell me it's just another dog and nobody should care. If you can do that, turn in your human card.
Here is a poster boy for you Ex-Raven indicted for dog, alligator abuseSo you value this cat more than you value Beasley and his future? His life?
So one injustice demands another? That was pretty ridiculous btw.
Folks are taking issue with how you and others are being so flippant about torturing a cat. We will just disagree I guess, but PUTTING CATS IN A BAG AND DROWNING THEM will never be okay with me. You can call me a snowflake until you can't breathe, I don't give a ****.So you value this cat more than you value Beasley and his future? His life?
When this country was sane and substantially more moral... we understood the value of animal life compared to human life. Now we don't. We have people refusing to put down dogs with cancer and paying thousands on surgery while kids in their own community live in squalor. We have people in this thread who cannot answer the simple question as to whether they value the life of an unborn human child more than a cat.
And you think my stance is "disgusting"? It is A CAT. Not a human being.
I've been in a YEARS long battle to turn my friend into a Vols fan. And despite all the crap we've been through in recent times...she's finally there. Then this story came out and she said if he plays another down she will never watch or cheer for a Vols game in any sport ever again. All that hard work undone in a flash!Imagine being in Tuscaloosa or Gainesville this fall and having the whole stadium meowing at him when he takes the field. If he did it, he's got to go. It's not fair to our other players who don't want to be the laughing stock of the nation.
Start buying up LSU gear.I've been in a YEARS long battle to turn my friend into a Vols fan. And despite all the crap we've been through in recent times...she's finally there. I'm afraid it'll be like that for a lot of would be Vol fans. Realistically, there are many legitimate levels of reasons why we shouldn't allow kitten torturers to respresent our university. So, unless he's completely exonerated in a way that satisfies everyone, he should be shown the door.
Why do you keep bringing up the value of a human life vs a cat life? I don’t think anyone here has insinuated the guy should be put to death, or even suffer physical abuse such as he inflicted on the cat. We are just saying he shouldn’t be on the UT football team and should have his scholarship taken away. Thanks for being the one person on this thread at least willing to admit you hold that perverse view of the value of human life.
I was bored and did a quick Twitter search of Beasley. It’s in the NY Post, USA Today, even TMZ. Now granted I hate the USA Today sports page and pretty much all of their National writers and TMZ is a joke, the NY Post is the Post, but they are still very recognizable news outlets. If he ends up being guilty the only way this goes away is complete removal from the school. I don’t see another way, unless he goes to counseling, gets far away from football and becomes some sort of animal rights activist. And I think even that is pushing it to keep him on campus. Why do you keep bringing up the value of a human life vs a cat life? It is on ESPN and pretty much all the message boards of rival SEC schools too. We literally would have PETA protesting outside our games if this guy suits up.I was bored and did a quick Twitter search of Beasley. It’s in the NY Post, USA Today, even TMZ. Hell we probably do anyways because Smokey is on the sidelines. That dog probably lives better than most humans too.It is on ESPN and pretty much all the message boards of rival SEC schools too. We literally would have PETA protesting outside our games if this guy suits up.
Agree, and I suspect this whole thing is going to get worse, not better with more light shone on it. If we make a determination that he did it, the sooner he's gone, the better for UT.It is on ESPN and pretty much all the message boards of rival SEC schools too. Deliberately hurting someone’s pet is sadistic behavior and a serious red flag for his character. I would kick him off the team. Let him get his 2nd chance somewhere else if a team is willing to take him.No. No strawman. I think he did something wrong. I think he should be punished. But unless this is a pattern of behavior then he should not be kicked off the team or treated like a mass murderer for getting angry and hurting a cat... an ANIMAL... NOT a human being.
