LB Beasley Under Investigation

Tennessee Volunteers Suspended Aaron Beasley after allegations he Abused Kitten

Tennessee has indefinitely suspended junior linebacker Aaron Beasley after he was accused of animal abuse to a kitten.

A second roommate of the accuser told police that she was in her room when the kitten was allegedly abused and heard Beasley's girlfriend say, "You can't do that," before she started crying. The second roommate also claimed that she had a text from the girlfriend saying that Beasley put the kitten in the toilet, according to the police report.

The UT student rushed the kitten to a veterinarian clinic in Knoxville, Tennessee, where records show the animal was suffering from a traumatic brain injury from blunt force trauma to the head, internal bleeding and bruising to the left kidney.

As an animal lover I will not read the details of what was done to this innocent little cat. If this guy did this to this animal then he is scum. IF he did it then he should immediately be removed from the university and prosecuted to the fullest extent. This is barbaric behavior and has no place in civilized society. There is no pass given for animal abuse and torture. None.
Killing and torture of animals is how most psychopaths start. If true, get this nut away from society.

I think I'm going to be a rebel here, swim upstream, radically move against the tide, andddddddddd.....

.........wait for reliable evidence before I make judgments.
Beasley has been suspended. Hope all you want that the story isn’t true but it is fairly well documented now from very good sources.

Nuts. Plain nuts.

Yes he should be punished. Yes he needs counseling. NO... he does not need to have his life derailed for hurting a cat.

Dude deserves to be locked up the rest of his life. Disgusting human being.
Dude. No he doesn't. I asked the question earlier... if he had instead paid for and pressured his girlfriend into having an abortion... would you want him kicked off the team? Or is torturing an unborn child to death with saline less "disgusting" than hurting a cat?

If there's an INDICTMENT for a FELONY of ANY kind, a player does not deserve to represent the University. Is that unreasonable to you?

Indictment? Was AJ Johnson justly treated because of his "indictment"?

Does Tennessee really indict first time animal abuse offenders with felony charges?

Please drop the abortion debate. It got cleaned up yesterday and doesn't need to happen again
So it is not relevant with people going NUTS over the kid hurting a cat... that he would have no problem if he did MUCH worse?

Absolutely not.

But you're building a strawman. That he didn't reach a high level of heinousness doesn't mean that what he did wasn't suitably heinous.
No. No strawman. I think he did something wrong. I think he should be punished. But unless this is a pattern of behavior then he should not be kicked off the team or treated like a mass murderer for getting angry and hurting a cat... an ANIMAL... NOT a human being.

Can we all just agree that if he did what he’s being accused of, under no way shape or form should he be a student at the University of Tennessee and definitely not part of the football team? And for me that’s at the very least.
No. What he did if true should be punished. If he steps out of line again then treat him like anyone else and give him the boot. This is NOT the most awful thing a player has done... and remained on the team.

It’s politics...an unwinnable debate. No matter what the personal belief.

If I shoot you in the leg, would you accept the excuse that at least I didn't shoot you in the face?
Non sequitur. Are you proposing that it shouldn't be a crime if you shot me in the face but would if you shot me in the leg? That's your comparison.

I'm saying BOTH crimes should be punished in a way appropriate to the circumstance. That would NOT be the case if he's booted from the team for this.

If they can establish that he DID IT? Yeah...I’d agree. Need more presently to get there.

It's still a living creature. A creature owned and loved by a human being. A creature with absolutely no way to defend itself against a gigantic human. Morality is not black-and-white. That this creature doesn't have the moral value of a human life does not mean that it has absolutely no value at all.

Surely you realize that the abuse of animals is an early indicator of violent psychopathy.
