Legalization of weed in TN

I’d love to see more mental institutions built. The use of drugs has created a whole sect of unstable and untreated citizens.

It won't happen. In the long list of healthcare issues America needs to straighten out mental health is closer towards the bottom of that list.

100% chance you can become physically addicted to weed. That being said, its not like alcohol or drugs. No one ever died when they stopped smoking weed due to physical dependency.

Physical addiction is still a term with blurred lines, even by fed standards.

Weed is generally less dangerous than alcohol. People under 25 shouldn't smoke it heavily because it interferes with a person's ability to emotionally develop and the brain isn't fully developed until a person is about 25. Other than that, I have no problems with it. As has already been said, putting someone in jail for weed is dumb. I personally would like to see other things legalized as well.

If I could tell my younger self any one thing.....

What do you think my point is? Are we having the same conversation?

You: this is why x is illegal

Me: y is legal even though it is just as or more harmful than x, so why is x banned

You: you can't drive under the influence of y

How does that follow?

Isn't there a constitutional amendment saying alcohol is legal?

I've tried some addictive things in my life and I can honestly say that weed isn't really on the list. Your average person not suffering from some underlying mental illness will have no issue with smoking some weed, putting it down and not going back to it.

If you choose to take the opinions of doctors and professionals who haven't even tried weed once in their life and are simply regurgitating information from some 40 year old biased medical journals then you aren't doing your due diligence. Get off the internet, go out there and talk to real people with real experience with weed, gather your own information and start forming your own opinion on it.

Did you know that marijuana does have a legitimate medical use and is still classified as a schedule 1 substance? Hence my skepticism with regard to the link you posted from the feds.
I don’t care what the federal government does. TCA code has it as schedule VI. That’s what I go by

Terrible idea....isn’t it as bad for your lungs as smoking? Our lungs were not designed to breath smoke? Enough drunk drivers on the road don’t need more stoned drivers. People who were stoners in high school are pretty much stuck in the drug loop or dead.
nice broad brush you have there.

Lmao I work with research scientists and physicians every day. I know what their views are on marijuana and other drugs. I know that most have smoked weed before in high school or college. It doesn’t change the negative effects that marijuana has on people. THC/CBD does has some positive effects on some things medically but it’s not any different from certain other drugs which may have some medical benefits but also has negative ones as well.

That’s the dumb argument that people who vape make. “At least it’s healthier than smoking” as they fill their lungs with other liquids. At least weed isn’t as bad as heroin. Lol

yes because that is a link of actual medical doctors and scientists who support what i said to be the truth...the negative aspects of marijuana are well known among physicians

Marijuana use disorder, as they call it, doesn't sound any worse than caffeine use disorder, as I'm calling it.

Almost 1 in 10 users become dependent on it! Wow! Withdrawal symptoms, such as restlessness and physical discomfort, may last up to 2 weeks! Oh no! Better put people in jail for years for possessing it in order to protect them! Thanks for bringing this to our attention.

Who said that. You obviously have read my posts that I never charge anyone just for a little weed. Now drug dealers or those with other drugs too or those high in public then yes

Where did the green leaf touch you?

I've cared for the spectrum of people from causal users to die hard get stoned 7 times a day. The latter usually have mental illnesses they are trying to cover. Pot kills the voices.

I take care of way more ETOH wd pts than i ever have pot. That being said, Jimmy smoking pot for 40 years is the reason why we can't get him off the ventilator.
Can't say pot is as bad as meth, heroine, crack or cocaine. I've watched Those drugs obliterate lives. Those drugs effects are usually very quick to show detrimental effects. Pot is more insidious. If it was taken by ingestion medically i can't slight it.
Last time i smoked it I was 19. I ate every dorito in sight, got paranoid and fell asleep. Waste of a good buzz I was told. I choose to face life without it because I can't handle drugs.
The.gov will only legalized it when big Parma can hold its hand and together they can profit from it. No more small patches for personal use even when it hurts no one. Those will remain illegal. .Gov will go against the will of the people on this, until they can $$

Follow the money is right. Here in Florida, the will of the people is being trampled and hamstrung while the politicians and the elite can figure out how to monopolize and squeeze every dollar out of it.

It can be. If you smoke it unfiltered because of the tar. There are ways to filter the tar out. Bongs, vaping, edibles. Studies have also showed a stoned driver is a hell of a lot safer than a drunk driver.

Aside from all that, its perfectly legal to destroy your lungs with cigarettes. Its perfectly legal to drink until your liver stops working and you die. Marijuana is significantly safer than both. Why shouldn't it legal? The whole "it's bad for you" argument holds absolutely no water. I know Willie had to quit smoking but the man is 86 years old. How many cigarettes smokers even live to see 86 years old? I would say probably 0.

Your right. We weren't born breathing smoke. I'm fine with edibles.

again, no one with any sense would advocate driving a vehicle while under the influence of marijuana. (or alcohol, or meth or heroin or prescription pills one is SUPPOSED to take). I could care less what people do to themselves, but just because marijuana is "safer" than something, doesnt mean it doesnt harm your body...smoke weed all you want, just do it at home...the pro-weed brigade here is arguing with me about legality, when i've said i have no problem with people smoking weed at home, it's the being high in public or while driving that's the issue..

The irrational nature of some of these people are the same as people who vape or people that breed pit bulls....They are so quick to argue and defend their point of view to the death, but will not listen to any actual evidence that what they love actually has some negative consequences and side effects. Any one who has to use drugs as a recreational thing has life issues that go far beyond the medical part of it, but i do not care what people do in their own homes.
