Let's compare Jesus and Muhammed (and debate homosexuality) (and Tombstone).

Agree with almost all your post here. I don't want to be mistaken to think I stereotype at a whim. I generally don't have a problem with people, I have a problem with beliefs and the impacts those beliefs have on those people and society.

The bolded caught my eye. I would disagree...comparatively speaking, predominately Muslim countries (as a rule) are far more chaotic right now then traditional western and Judeo-Christian countries. I'm not going to sit here and defend Christian beliefs as any less unbelievable, but as a social construct there is a definitive difference.

They are, but you have to look at why each country is violent on an individual basis. The majority of Muslim countries have also had conflict born or something other than religion. If Muslim, a common thread between most of them was causal then Turkey, Azerbaijan, etc. would also be violent, yet they are on the whole peaceful places.

If Muslim, a common thread between most of them was causal then Turkey, Azerbaijan, etc. would also be violent, yet they are on the whole peaceful places.

Turkey became that way by rejecting an islamic
government and embracing a western style secular
government.

For the many many years the moslems ruled Turkey
under the caliphate, what we call the Ottoman
Empire, they were probably the most violent in
the world.

Now there are attemps to revive the Ottoman Empire
and establish a new caliphate.

This man is called by many as the world's most
dangerous moslem.

From Pennsylvania, he has toppled the secular
government of Turkey, established over 3,000
schools throughout Central Asia, the Middle East,
Europe, and the United States, created a new
country called East Turkistan, and formed a
movement that seeks to create a New Islamic
World Order.
----

The neighbors complained to this reporter of
gunfire from fully automatic weapons coming
from the complex and the presence of a
surveillance helicopter that combs the property
in search of unwanted intruders.

They maintain that an army of approximately
100 Turkish guards stand watch over the
property in order to protect their reclusive
leader.

BTW, the U S of A is the only country in the world
that recognizes East Turkistan, that should tell you
just how much influence these people have over
our own government that seems like it doesn't think
it needs to answer to the people anymore.

Also, Fethullah Gulen has established innumerable
islamic public schools here in America that we pay
for with public tax funds.

Who would be the world's most dangerous Christian??

I do so daily.

How many times is the word "Islam" mentioned in the Koran (I'll give you a hint, it is less than ten)?

And how many times is jihad mentioned?

And only one tenth of those references
refer to overcoming one's own self, all
the rest have to do with overcoming
the infidel.

What are the two most oft repeated words
in the Bible??

That's a good point. That's also another reason why I'm not sure so many people seem to jump to the conclusion that religion is the cause of every conflict/problem.

Another point is that if one follows the example
of Jesus Christ then that is a peaceful way.

But if one follows the example of Abu al-Qasim
Muhammad Ibn Abd Allah Ibn Abd al-Muttalib
Ibn Hashim then one leads a life that in the end
resembles that of Charles Manson.

Which brings me to another comparison between
Jesus and Muhammed.

What was their attitude toward worldly wealth??

Jesus Christ told the rich young ruler to sell what
he had, give it to the poor and follow him. He said
render to Caesar what was Caesar's and unto God
what was God's. (meaning spiritual things.)

Abu al-Qasim Muhammad Ibn Abd Allah Ibn Abd al-Muttalib Ibn Hashim promised his follower booty and
spoils if they joined him to plunder and slaughter
infidels.

Luke 2:14

KJV: Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.

Vulgate: gloria in altissimis Deo et in terra pax in hominibus bonae voluntatis

NAB: "Glory to God in the highest and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests."

You asked for one place: criteria met.

I'm simply floored, that is one huge difference.

Thanks for picking up MG's light work.

Normally we're not supposed to air out laundry like this, but I unbanned him after giving it some second thought. The politics forum needs to be modded a bit more fast and loose, because it allows for better conversation.

I've gone the other way, and said some things that I would have corrected others for, and corrected my mistakes. If you screw up and admit it and go about it like an adult, you will be okay around these parts.

If somebody else makes a mistake or does something you disagree with, shows some contrition and you still act like a child about it, then most of the reasonable folks of this board will think of you as a child with basic level mastery of the internet and how to find a message board.

What bothers me is that you allow all sorts of
crap directed at me, including some of your own
childish efforts, but then if I reply in kind or
taunt them a bit more, it's Katey bar the door.

Did you delete the PM Unrealut sent me??

Hey, I corrected the path and it is what it is. It's fast and loose in here, that's the way things are. Deal it, but prepare to take it as well if your takes suck (which they often do).

And I didn't see said PM, that sort of thing is best discussed in private though. PM any mod.

You've lost your mind.

Why, did you find one finally??

I think he has... But we're supposed to let it ride for the "entertainment of the board"

Instead of making a small minded snide remark about my mental state, what about being a man and trying to refute what I posted???

Let me ask you a question, you say you are a Christian and that you live amongst thousands of peace loving moslems, do you ever invite one of them to church to worship with you or to hear the Gospel??

Do you think their religion promises them eternal salvation?

GS I am no Charlatan, and I know what I speak of. I have devoted my life to Religious, and Cultural studies. That is what I went to college for, along with History in general.

There is no way someone as bitter, and closed minded as you will ever have their mind changed. I am not Muslim. I have studied the Koran and have been fortunate enough to travel to Azerbaijan, and Turkey and experience these Satanic people as you love to refer to them, and not once did I ever feel like I was in danger because I was Christian. I wore my Cross in plain view and never once did I get even a dirty look.

The People of Azerbaijan were some of the friendliest, and hospitable people I have ever met. They are right up there with the Japanese imo. Baku a city of Two Million had Churches, Synagogues, Kingdom Halls, and Mosques and I didn't see any murder or, persecution going on o0ver Religion.

Turkey has been one of America's closet Allies for decades, and along with England was our strongest Ally against the Soviet Union.

I have met many Muslims in my life and have attended many Mosques and never once did I feel anything but respect, and peace from and for them. Muslims are no different than the rest of us. They raise their children, worry about money, go to the Movies, have dinner, lunch, breakfast, sex, etc........ They are not a Culture of Savagery, and Brutality.

You have no idea what your talking about GS. Do you realize that nearly I in 4 people on earth are Muslim. If this religion really is as violent and evil as you claim, why isnt the World in total chaos right now? Answer me that.

You want to believe that Muslims and Islam in general is evil. You want to believe they are out to get you and your way of life, that way your hatred for them can be justified. Good thing for you that the internet exists or you would have to pull your Sandwich Board back out of the closet.

You have got to be the most Bitter and Self Rightous man I have ever encountered on these boards, and the really scary part is I have no doubt in my mind that you truly believe all the crap that you type on here. I pity people like you. Life hasnt been what you hoped it would be so you are going to take it out of the world. I have family just like you. Everyone else is the reason why their life sucks.

A word of Advice. You should really let some of that Hatred and Fear for things you don't really understand go. Life is too damn short to carry around all that Venom.

What was your source for those "misconceptions?"

Since you aren't a charlatan, then you opt for the second option?

My life doesn't suck, I have a great time, sorry everyone in your family thinks life sucks, maybe it's just their reaction to you.

You make a common mistake, I don't say that each and every moslem is evil but I do say the teachings of islam are and satanic at that.

You are wrong about the hatred and fear, I fear them not nor do I hate them.

You have your opinion but what of the millions of slaughtered Christians of the twentieth century??

Explain that away!

Five Of The World’s Most Dangerous Places to Be a Christian | All American Blogger

“The proportion of countries with a worsening track-record of anti-Christian violence and intimidation would be higher were it not for the fact that in many cases the situation could scarcely have been worse in the first place,” the report stated.

It is estimated that 150,000 Christians are killed each year because of their faith, one every three minutes.

The worst “persecution” Christians face in America is the occasional Leftist attempt to get Christmas decorations removed from a public setting, or stores substituting “Happy Holidays” for “Merry Christmas.”

It isn’t as simple for followers in other countries.

What of just the last half century of what the followers of islam have done??

Muslim Brotherhood: The roots of the Pan-Islamic Jihad and wars in Sudan, Palestine, Bosnia, Chechnya, Afghanistan, Algeria

Over Ten Million Human Beings Murdered in half a century.

One in four may be moslem but that is because they are born to a moslem father and it is forbidden for them to leave islam.

BTW, you won't wear that cross in Saudi Arabia and Azerbaijan is a far cry from Lebanon or Sudan these days. I guess those two million black Christians of southern Sudan just upped and died all on their own?

And btw, did you see many Armenians, Greeks or Assyrian Christians during your travels in Turkey??

You ask why the world isn't in total chaos, how do you mean, as opposed to the middle of one of the last two world wars?? It doesn't seem to be all that peaceful since their are riots in almost every moslem country in the world, particularly in the mideast with occasion outbreaks of moslem inspired riots in the cities of Europe.

And a word of advice to you, you should wise up.

Oh, since you are so well read and experienced on this topic, what do you have to offer in the way of a comparison between Jesus and Muhammed?

I think what you and gs are missing is that unrest in the ME has to do more with decades of oppression and disillusionment towards gov't than trying to estalblish some caliphate. The poor and disenfranchised who don't have any hopes or aspirations b/c of brutal, opperessive regimes are easy prey for fringe ideas and groups with motives that appear to give them alternatives to their misery. It is analogous to white supremecists/anti-gov't groups in our own country. Many "terrorists" have been brainwashed by cult-like figures to believe they are commiting atrocities in the name of Islam by charlatans with their own agendas. Unfortunately, such acts garner great attention and therefore give Islam as a whole a bad name.

And the most oppressive thing of all is islam itself.

Everywhere islam abounds, economy stagnates.
(except of course where they have petro dollars flowing in like we could print all the money anyone would ever need.)

And more on those schools mentioned a couple of posts back.

?The World?s Most Dangerous Islamist? Lives In Pennsylvania at Pat Dollard

With his vast resources, Gulen established thousands of schools throughout Central Asia – - – Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, and Azerbaijan – - in order to create a massive pan-Islamic state. Noted whistleblower Sibel Edmonds explains: “Turkey shares the same heritage/race as the entire population of Central Asia, the same language (Turkic), the same religion (Sunni Islam), and of course, the strategic location and proximity.”

According to Bayram Balci, a Turkish scholar, the Gulen schools seek to expand “the Islamization of Turkish nationality and the Turkification of Islam” in order to bring about a universal caliphate ruled by Islamic law.

Because of the subversive nature of these institutions, these schools have been outlawed in Russia and Uzbekistan.

Even the Netherlands, a nation that embraces pluralism and tolerance, has opted to cut funding to the Gulen schools because of their imminent threat to the social order.

But Gulen’s 150-plus charter schools in the United States, which advance Gulen’s international agenda have received little national attention.

All of these charter schools – - which advance the New Islamic World Order – - are fully funded by American taxpayers.

A partial listing of the Gulen schools throughout the U.S.A.

Hey, I corrected the path and it is what it is. It's fast and loose in here, that's the way things are. Deal it, but prepare to take it as well if your takes suck (which they often do).

And I didn't see said PM, that sort of thing is best discussed in private though. PM any mod.

It is what it is. Fair enough.

All I ask is that you take your own bias out of the equation when moderating.

I think your takes nearly always suck btw!

If you go back to the post of mine that you took exception to, I think you will find that the poster to whom I was responding had repeatedly crossed the line.

So if someone posts they think I'm a hatemongering lowlife then I can feel free to tell them I think they are an airheaded slug??

Just recently I've found that I'm supposedly bitter, and closed minded, have no idea what I'm talking about and am a most 'Bitter and Self Rightous man'.

And that coming from someone who posts a load of islamic taqqiya and won't give up the site it came from.

I probably forgot over forty years ago more than he will ever know about the Arabic speaking world.

Any thoughts on the sameness of or differences between Jesus and the illustrious muhammed??

Isn't the definition of Muslim simply a "believer"? Wouldn't that mean that anyone that believes in God is actually, technically a Muslim?

No, for several reasons, the most outstanding is
that Islam does NOT recognize Jesus as the Son
of God and the author of salvation.

I think your takes nearly always suck btw!

Ahhh, the "no, you!" approach. Haven't heard that since the "who can climb the jungle gym fastest" debate in elementary school.

So if someone posts they think I'm a hatemongering lowlife then I can feel free to tell them I think they are an airheaded slug??

Awwww. Have an issue? Here's a tissue.

Just recently I've found that I'm supposedly bitter, and closed minded, have no idea what I'm talking about and am a most 'Bitter and Self Rightous man'.

It's amazing what you find out when you look away from the computer screen and think.

And that coming from someone who posts a load of islamic taqqiya and won't give up the site it came from.

From what I see, dude cites most of his claims. You cite blogs. blogs are not credible, are rarely truthful, and are more biased than any media outlet on television.

I probably forgot over forty years ago more than he will ever know about the Arabic speaking world.

That's all I can think of when reading that.

Any thoughts on the sameness of or differences between Jesus and the illustrious muhammed??

Technically, there are many differences... but in the big picture...

-both were charismatic madmen.
-both were self-proclaimed prophets (depending on which book you read) or second comings.
-both targeted the right audience.

However!

One died on a stick and the other didn't.

I think I ended the PM by calling you a racist *****.

I am far less curious to learn that such a condition and cream exists - and infinitely more as to how you came to the respective awareness of each.

Yeah, having strong armed thugs as leaders that kept dissent from threatening their little kingdoms had nothing to do with it. Was Stalin a Muslim? Mao? Pol Pot? Nero? Fill in the blank?
