Let's compare Jesus and Muhammed (and debate homosexuality) (and Tombstone).

Picked up this information from "Reliance of The Traveler: The Classic Manual of Sacred Law", the authoritative Sha'afi school compendium of shari'a jurisprudence. This is only a short list obviously.

Sharia on family law:
Women are eligible for only half of the inheritance of men
Virgins may be married against their will by a father or grandfather
Arab women may not marry non-Arab men
Women may not leave the house without a husband’s permission
Muslim men may marry 4 women, including Christians and Jews; Muslim women may marry Muslims
Men may beat insubordinate wives

Sharia on Jihad and religion:
Offensive war (military Jihad) against non-Muslims is a religious obligation
Apostasy from Islam is punishable by death without trial
Non-Muslims ruled by Islam must follow including discriminatory “dhimmi” taxes and laws.
Non-Muslims may not receive Muslim charity “zakat”, but may be bribed to convert to Islam but
Lying to infidels during Jihad, or to promote Islam, is permissible

Sharia on human rights:
Homosexuals and lesbians must be killed
Slavery is permitted and legitimate
Muslim men have unlimited sexual rights over slave women, even married slaves
Female sexual mutilation is obligatory
Adultery is punished with death by stoning
Women's testimony in court is worth half that of men (and is permitted only in property cases)
Non-Muslims may not testify in Shariah courts.

Way to pare Shariah Law down to only its detestable notions, not to mention bastardize many of its components.

Yeah not my work, but thought it was worthy in a comparsion between Jesus and Muhammad.:eek:k: They're not here to spread peace and prosperity.:clapping:

If you only want to compare all the negatives, yeah, its great. Except that Muhammed did not come up with Sharia Law.

Muhammed wrote the Koran. Hadiths are interpretations of the some of the Koranic teachings. Sharia combines elements of both the Koran and the Hadith.

If you want to use Sharia to state that Islam is not peaceful, then it is only fair to compare that with the Christian Institutions that gained power and compiled legislation based on the Old and New Testaments and Christian writings. Many of these laws in Western Europe and the United States professed many similar values to the worst aspects of Sharia that you posted. Many laws in Christian countries (Uganda, for example) still profess some of those same traits.

On top of this, Muhammed never professed to be God; Jesus did. Therefore, all the murdering that is ordered by God throughout the Old Testament logically can be blamed on Jesus (since, they are one in the same...and, according to the Gospel of John, the Word (Jesus) has been around since Creation).

Great comparison, though.

I got somebodies panties in a wad. Hey you're free to practice whatever religion you want to here there are no boundaries. That will be the undoing of it also. House divided will fall and that's what it's coming too.

Yet, you seem to support outlawing Sharia? This would be akin to outlawing the Roman Catholic Catechism.

I have been called stupid, dumb, a fool and a few other things but not one genius that has called me these names can show one study where science says darkness is nothing but the absence of light.

My point is very simple , because science
cannot measure something or determine the substance something is made of does not mean it does not exist.

Darkness exist , gets dark every night in east TN. We all know darkness exist but according to science it is no more than the absence of light.

There are more things that exist that science cannot measure.

Can science measure how much one loves or hates someone?

Dear old man,
The gods have made you mad. They have that power,
putting lunacy into the clearest head around
or setting a half-wit on the path to sense.
They've unhinged you, and you were once so sane.
Why do you mock me? - haven't I wept enough? -
telling such wild stories...
.

If the shoe fits.

I can't show you a study that says a wood table is composed of wood, either. Why? Because it doesn't need to be researched to be determined.

I can find ZERO scientific papers that tell me who is buried in Grant's tomb. But, I can deduce the answer.

You have yet to provide an adequate answer of what cannot be measured. We have provided math, philosophy and logic to the darkness, and determined that yes, it can be measured. Only in your mind is this something that cannot be measured.

Can science measure how much one loves or hates someone?

Yes. Emotion is electrical and chemical responses within the brain. Brain mapping can be used to determine the area of the brain that feels these emotions.

Chemical assay of the fluid within the area can determine which response is dependent upon which chemical. Electrical potential can do the same.

Based on these findings, the individual can be scaled using standards, and the results predicted.

Though, I'm not sure why you would even begin to think this is possible, when you can't grasp the concept of indirect measurement.

So you support the state sanctioning of Christianity in the US? Show me a country that has a state religion and is very prosperous. You're not much better than Gsvol.

Destroyed the Roman Empire.

Dark matter is not darkness in the conventional sense. The darkness in you closet is not dark matter.

Dark matter and darkness are not even in the same family. Dark matter is so distant from darkness that claiming that the two are nearly identical is absolutely the dumbest thing I can personally comprehend, and possibly the dumbest thing I have ever witnessed, personally.

In case you are having difficulty, the point of that article is not to talk about what is within the "darkness" but to talk about what exists between the darkness in space, or as the article itself says: "Is something hidden out there in the darkness?"

NOT

"What is out there that composes the darkness?"

Holy queens of the stone age, is this thread for real?

Really Gramps? REALLY? For ****'s sake, you're scaring me.

You've missed out on an interesting day in here, IPO.

Also, according to Kush, Horace never existed.

I've been monitoring the thread. I had to go up to the mountains and do some field work for a class this afternoon.

Pretty crazy stuff. Gramps is pulling a major O'Reilly/tides moment in here.

And the irony of a follower of Christ arguing Horace didn't exist is certainly rich.
