These are the guys out of left field:

1) Rex Ryan. He is charismatic, would bring instant recruiting success due to sheer personality, and can coach very well. I think he will be looking for a job after this year. Would have to tone down the foot fetish thing though.

2) Andy Reid. Has all the credentials and will be looking for a job as well. Honestly I see him in Cleveland.

3) Frank Solich. He's winning in Ohio.

4) Bo Pelini. Knows the SEC and is winning in the wasteland of Nebraska. Kind of surprised his name hasnt come up.

5) Steve Sarkisian. I think he is an excellent coach and would love to make the jump to the SEC.

I disagree on Sark.

I have partied in Eugene in my younger years...very cool town.

Yeeaahh...it was mellow...bunch of pot smoking liberal hippies. I am actually thinking about moving there!!! Loved it! And it rarely snows in Eugene! I was shocked

A lot like Boulder...minus the winters.

I was really surprised about the winters that far north. I could understand on the coast, but eugene is over the mountain and in the valley. i really liked it there.

dont think chip would leave for all the gold in fort knox

i honestly think they will win the NC this year

Left field? Barry Alverez
Sorry, just trying to play the game. Not really serious.
Jeremy Bates would be another left field HC candidate. No HC exp but would take him over Kirby Smart. When I say left field, I mean waaaay left field.

Jeremy Bates is interesting. His dad was a longtime coach in the NFL and I think he coached at UT back in the late 60's or early 70's. Plus, Jeremy went to UT before transferring to SMU or Rice.

Bill O'Brien

Has coached LB's, QB's, RB's and TE's.
Good overall collegiate experience.
Proven experience as an OC.
Good NFL experience.
A player's coach... they really like him at Penn St.
And most of all... he didn't take crap from Brady while he was with the Patriots.

revol, you have really disappointed me with your post. I never thought you were a fairweather fan. It is not in the best interest of UT to change coaches again, it will absolutely put the Football program behind another 3 years. The problem I see with posters like you and others, is that you are institutionalized. You have been doing this for so long (18,080 post), that your believe that you know what is really the best for UT Football, you've lost your objectivity........like the 5% that post.

I can't believe noone else thinks Ault would be the man. 232-106. If your looking for wins, there it is. Sure he may be near 70 years old and coached at the same school since 1976. 232 wins!!

Ok, maybe I was over in the left field bleachers with this one. :)
