well more bad news today, found out from my oncologist I will most likely being losing either all or part of my larynx

there checking to see if a partial removal can be done if not,due to the type of arthritis (Ankylosing spondylitis) I have the odds of a total removal with radiation therapy is extremely high

I'm looking for a surgeon that can do this, with the Ankylosing spondylitis, does anybody know of one ? at UT Med or somewhere else,my ENT will most likely be checking with Wake Forrest ,I'm waiting to hear from him,but I need more options,so I'm looking on my own too,any help would be greatly appreciated

makes me wonder as to what is next ,it just keeps getting worse

Mule, where is your oncologist located? Have you ever been seen at UT by one of their cancer doctors? I know Dr. Hanna at UT is a good cancer doctor, but he's not a surgeon. And though I despise the school, the doctors here at Vandy have been very good. All the doctors I've met have been friendly and appear to know what they're talking about. If you feel 100% comfortable with your oncologist though, I'd follow his recommendations.

Doing fine. Just got back from SC💕. Looking forward to a LV game with Gmule😀. Getting really excited for the season. Now if I can just get gule:crazy: to bring back my white hat and ante up for the beers like he promised.....

Don't worry, Gmule, if gule:crazy: is mean, TO and I will buy your beer👍.

Celebration list:T_V, 1CV, 4ever, Sly,....gosh! I wonder if Weezy would be interested?

😄😄😄😄😄😄😄😄😄💥💥💥💥💥💥

Possibly.... :)

But NO beer for me! :p

Many years ago, I played trumpet in the UT band (both marching and pep). I loved going to the LV games and joking with the players. We had Tiffany Woosley cracking up at the free throw line once. Luckily she made her shots or Pat probably would have had our heads, lol.

Just found out the yearly family reunion is scheduled for Sept 30th, in Loudon. UGA plays UT on the 29th in Ktown.

win win!

gov'tmule: Could you look at Vandy (insert sign against the evil eye) or Duke or Emory? I've had a number of surgeries but none of the type you are having to think about.

Sending prayers on your behalf every day! Stay strong!

he is located in Morristown Tn, supposedly a good oncologist from what I've heard, but I'm having doubts about him and my ENT doc too, after this past week

the oncologist wanted a procedure done before the radiation treatments started,so I had it done, then he tells me I need to get this surgery done because of the arthritis,so why didn't he tell me first ? the procedure didn't need to be done, from what I gathered from him

and then there is my ENT doctor, they seem to be lost as to why the oncologist called em up and wanted to know who would be best for the surgery or if can be done,so I'm not very happy with either one of them right at the moment to say the least

Hey Gmule you need to go at least to Knoxville and preferably to Vanderbilt. Morristown is not far to me even though I live closer to Greeneville if I had something serious I wouldn't go to either town.

Mule, don't screw around with the Doctors in "Marshtown". Get your butt down to UT. My wife's cousin was given up for dead over 2 years ago. In fact, he did die 3 times on the operating table with heart trouble. He was dealing with cancer and heart issues at the same time. He is back at work now, a little weaker than before the issues, but getting stronger. Don't screw around! Get to where you need to go!

I'd seek a second opinion then. If you're not entirely comfortable with your oncologist, find a voice you are confident with.
